The workbook covers:
AC1.1 Describe a personal strength or ability
AC1.2 Identify an area for self-development
AC1.3 Describe a personal skill or behaviour they need to develop
AC2.1 Describe how they will develop their personal skill or behaviour
AC2.2 Suggest a suitable target to work towards and agree it with an appropriate person

AC3.2 Review what went well and what did not go so well
AC3.3 Make choices about how they will continue to develop their personal skills
Learners begin by identifying and describing their own strengths before choosing an area for self-development. They then identify a specific skill or behaviour to improve, create and agree a suitable short-term target, identify the people and resources that can support them, and plan how they will develop their chosen skill or behaviour.
Activities include:
- identifying personal strengths
- reflecting on strengths shown at school
- choosing an area for self-development
- identifying a skill or behaviour to improve
- setting and agreeing a suitable target
- identifying support and useful resources
- planning how to develop the chosen skill or behaviour
- completing eight practical progress logs
- carrying out a mid-progress review
- completing a final progress review
- identifying what went well and what could be improved
- choosing the next step for continued personal development
The workbook includes repeated practice logs so learners can demonstrate progress over time and record what they did, how they felt, whether they met their target and what support helped them.
The final section supports learners to review their progress, identify strengths and difficulties in the process, and decide how they will continue developing their personal skills.
