World Cup 2026 English creative writing introduction lesson that explores the opening to a short story about a teenager attending a football cup final, and starts a unit of work on writing stories and narratives with a football theme, whilst looking at creative writing. Students explore narrative hooks, and the key elements of short stories, before analysing how the writer of a soccer-themed story opens their short story for their readers. A useful lesson for both KS3 and GCSE English Literature and English Language students.
