Learning objectives (new curriculum):
Recognise, find, name and write fractions 1/3, 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 of a length, shape, set of objects or quantity.
Write simple fractions e.g. 1/2 of 6 = 3

This is a week's worth of fractions lessons, designed for a mixed ability year 2 class. Much of it would also be suitable (or easily adapted) for more able Y1 or less able Y3.

The lessons begin by recapping finding exactly half of a shape in different orientations and then move on to finding halves, thirds and quarters of shapes. The children then find fractions of numbers and finally on to solving word problems involving fractions.

I've used it in Autumn term 1 and 2 and it corresponds with the fractions element of B1, B3, E1, E2 and E3, in the old Numeracy Framework, as well as the learning objectives mentioned above for the 2014 curriculum.

There are 15 worksheets in total, each containing the main questions and an extension activity. There is a lower, middle and higher ability worksheet for each of 5 days.
