**Objective **- Year 1 Counting numbers to 30.

Prior teaching
*Task 1 *- Prior to the resource being used children need to be exposed to counting a range of objects and can are developing their ability to write numbers to match the corresponding picture.
Task 2 - Prior to the resource being used children need to be exposed to using the following resources to make numbers; money, numicon, base ten, ten frames.

The work sheet is split into two sections, Task 1 and Task 2.
Task 1 develops children’s fluency skills, while Task 2 develops children’s reasoning skills.
Two key objectives of the National Curriculum.

Task 1 - Using a range of pictorial images for the children to practise their counting and write the number in the boxes provided.
Task 2 - Children count each of the different pictorial representations (money, Numicon, base ten, ten frames, number lines) and deduce which image is the odd one out.

Assessment
Task 1 – Teachers can assess which children are confident counting to 10 and 20
Task 2 – Teachers can assess which children are confident at counting to 30 using a range of different representations.
