This 7 lesson bundle, covers representation in the Bond Franchise. The lessons look at:

BOND BOOSTER RESOURCE:

This resource was used by me to assess students knowledge of the Bond franchise as a whole with regards to promotion and marketing. The resource is a double sided resource focusing on 4 posters from various decades in the 50+ year franchise. Side one consists of a Media Language analysis with differentiated terms to consider for a LV9 response. The reverse side looks at representation and once again has LV9 terms provided. The two questions are as follows:

MEDIA LANGUAGE ANALYSIS: How is Media language used in these two Bond posters to communicate meaning to an audience? Remember Media Language looks at codes, conventions, intertextuality, narrative theories, homage etc. Annotate around the posters in full sentences.

REPRESENTATIONAL ANALYSIS: How have these posters been constructed by the producer to portray representations of masculinity, femininity and conventional features of the Bond Franchise? Consider progressive, regressive, countertype, archetype, Laura Mulvey’s Male Gaze etc.

This resource is great as a timed assessment or it can be set as a cover task in your absence. It takes students out of their comfort zone by introducing them to films outside of the EDUQAS set texts.
