LESSON 3-4, SEMIOTICS, CONNOTATIONS, DENOTATIONS= This double lesson looks at the terminology and exploration of semiotics with a key focus upon the terms; signifier, signified, denotations and connotations. The lesson is centred around the Media forms 'Kiss of the Vampire' poster and the 'Tide' print advert. Other unseen texts are also included to expand students knowledge of the terms and the media as a whole such as a short viewing of an extract from the TV show 'Black Mirror'.

A separate worksheet is also included with this resource.

NOTE: I am following EDUQAS Teaching Model 1 in my teaching/ SOW and my school is only providing Media Studies at A-Level, as a Two- Year Course. Moreover, each lesson has a task whereby students RAG (Red, Amber, Green) what they have learnt in the lesson against an Examiner checklist (Differentiation, peer assessment).
