This interactive PowerPoint and 5 detailed lesson plans relate to stories with Familiar Settings based on the Year 2 National Curriculum scheme of work. During this first week, children will focus on the two stories ‘Gorilla’ by Anthony Browne and ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ by Judith Kerr. Not only will they enjoy reading both of these wonderful stories, they will also learn, revise and apply their knowledge of nouns, adjectives and punctuation (including question marks) within a variety of engaging activities.

Lesson 3: To read and compare two stories
Lesson 4: To punctuate sentences using capital letters, full stops and question marks
