Related Poem - ‘The door’ by Miroslav Holub (included)

This interactive PowerPoint contains the final 5 poetry lessons relating to Image Poems based on the Year 4 National Curriculum scheme of work. To conclude this unit pupils will practise writing descriptive sentences using comparative adjectives before editing their work to include fronted adverbials. They will learn the importance of a fronted adverbial as well as how and why these are used. Your class will become more engaged with poetry as they use their imaginations to visualise a range of different images when they ‘open a door’. They will then use these collaborative ideas to produce their own image poem (either independently or with a partner) before learning, rehearsing and performing their work during the final lesson.

Lesson 1: To write descriptive sentences
Lesson 2: To use fronted adverbials to improve my writing
Lesson 3: To plan a descriptive piece of writing
Lesson 4: To write an image poem
Lesson 5: To learn, prepare and perform my poem

I was expecting a lesson plan to go with it. The powerpoint is tricky to follow and I'm not sure how comparative adjectives and adverbial phrases link to the door poem at the end?
