Year 7 / 8 E-Safety SoW

A sequence of 6 lessons covering one half term intended for a KS3 computing / IT curriculum. The entire sequence is ready made and can be delivered straightaway. All the resources can be edited. The 6 lessons cover the following topics:

Lesson 1 - Welcome to the Computing Lab
Computing rules / expectations /folder structure / writing & sending email

Lesson 2 - Cyberbullying
What is cyberbullying / how to protect yourself / what to do if you are a victim / cyberbullying poster

Lesson 3 - Phishing
Opportunity to finish poster / phishing & spear phishing

Lesson 4 - Sexting
What is sexting / risks of sexting / how to protect yourself

Lesson 5 - Grooming
What is grooming / case studies / stages of grooming / how to protect yourself

Lesson 6 - Assessment
30 multiple questions on the unit / extension task / interactive e-safety game to finish the unit

The lessons include worksheets for lessons 2, 3, and 5 and a variety of activities. Lesson objectivies, retrieval practice and plenaries are included for each lesson. The sequence was designed using the Microsoft Office suite, but can be adapted for Google schools. The assessment will need to be typed into Google / Microsoft Forms so that it can be auto graded. The PDF version of the assessment is included in the L6 folder.
