A year 8 Design technology exam pack. Includes, a 1.5 hour exam, revision activity pack and mark scheme.

Created in the style of the new AQA Design Technology exam.

Exam covers:
· Source and Origin of materials: To know where materials originate from and their properties in textiles, resistant materials, electronics and graphics.
· Physical Properties of materials
· Fossil fuels: To be able to explain fossil fuels.
· Treatments and finishes: Be able to select a treatment and finish and know how it is applied to a material
· 6 R’s for sustainability: As designers, manufacturers and consumers it’s important to consider the 6 R’s for sustainability. Know the 6 terms below, understand how you would consider these in your designing and making. REUSE, RECYCLE, RETHINK, REPAIR, REFUSE and REDUCE.
· Design considerations: To be able to design for the elderly and teenagers.
· Product analysis: Be able to describe/analyse the work of other designers. You will be given a picture of an existing product and asked to evaluate it.
