
A mood diary / ‘Zones across my day’ worksheet linked to ‘Zones of Regulation’
To encourage the child to digest both positive and negative aspects of his day, celebrating the positives, and for staff to become aware of aspects that may be triggering for him to inform future planning. This will need to be modelled at first as child will find self-reflection hard- the staff working with the child could complete one for themselves alongside the child so that they learn how to reflect on the day, starting with just adding marks on the chart, building up slowly to discussing events of the day. If child struggles to reflect across the full day, complete this after break and lunch to make it more accessible
