Thankyou for sharing this. It has really helped.
Practice questions, homeworks and assessments
This worksheet allows students within a structure to discover the rules for calculating with bounds for all 4 operations. Best printed 2 pages to 1 page and then fits nicely in students books when folded.

Perfect scaffolding for students to discover themselves why the rules are what they are. Planning to do with a year 10 higher class. :-)
A powerpoint with explanations and worksheets covering rounding to decimal places and significant figures, estimation, upper & lower bounds and error intervals.

Clive needs your help again - he's struggling on his upper and lower bounds homwork. Designed to create discussion in class and get students thinking about the question. I have used typical errors in Clive's workings.

Thank you for publishing your resource. It has been selected to be featured in a new secondary maths collection.
A set of 8 GCSE exam style questions on Upper and Lower Bounds.
Topics Covered:
Upper and Lower Bounds
Topics it would be useful for students to know:
Speed, Distance, Time
Area of a Circle
Standard Form
Surface Area of a Sphere
The word document contains the questions/answers.
The smart notebook contains full written solutions.
Video solutions available at http://parkermaths.com/link/bounds1
Ideas for using this resource:
1. Set the worksheet as a homework/revision task. Pupils can then use the video to check answers and follow along with the method for any questions they are struggling with.
2. Use the worksheet for a 'computer' lesson. Pupils can attempt the question on their own first, using the video solutions if they get stuck.
