UKULELE | Disney 'Around The World'

UKULELE | Disney 'Around The World'

I have put together 7 pieces from different Disney films based around the world. Quite a few Disney songs have a lot of chords in them or have needed transposing. Some still have harder chords used but I have a lot of pupils who have been bought Ukuleles as a result of doing whole-class lessons so these pupils tend to be able to do them. I usually split pupils in to a chord per team (6 chords, 6 teams), then 2 chords per team then split them in to easy chords and hard chords. These are not lesson plans but to be used along side other aspects of teacher (tab, notation, geography, language, etc).I have also included the Uke-Hero game I developed in these slides in case you do struggle for other things to do with pupils between songs.NOTE: You may need to download the videos for each song to input in to the slides (see: YouTube)Look out for part 2 to this covering countries like China (Mulan), Australia (Nemo), Norway (Frozen)...

Music Theory and Composition Techniques Workbook Sibelius File

Music Theory and Composition Techniques Workbook Sibelius File

77 page Music Theory and Composition Techniques workbook with a huge range of musical examples and tasks and activities. I put this together to support my own students as there are many workbooks which use Jazz or Classical examples but not many that I came across which use pop, rock and funk musical examples to demonstrate specific techniques. The workbook starts from intervals and basic scales but then moves on to cover a huge range of techniques. This is the Sibelius 7 file which you may edit and adapt for your own needs.

Catie the Rock Star! Interactive Recorder BAG Game

Catie the Rock Star! Interactive Recorder BAG Game

Catie the Rock Star is a Recorder game to help students practice reading notes and provide teachers an opportunity to assess students in the process. These recorder patterns include the notes B,A and G. Catie has a dream to be a rock star and has to make her way through the crowd, gathering enough stars to be able to perform with the band. As the students choose members of the audience they are given examples of musical patterns to practice. There are enough examples to have a whole class have at least one turn, giving your students opportunities to practice reading musical notes B,A, and G. This game can be projected for a whole group to play or played on a tablet for individual or small group work. It is a great way to integrate technology into the classroom and differentiate instruction! This game is dedicated to my Rock Star niece Catie!

Takeaway Homework for GCSE

Takeaway Homework for GCSE

I am sure you have heard of this approach to homework so I thought I would post the one I have created in the hope that it might be of use to you. It is a great way of getting students to choose homework tasks for themselves, but could also be used in a cover lesson. You may want to use this and then create your own or adapt it for different classes.
