This is a full lesson resource for case studies and content analysis for AQA Psychology. It covers the description and strengths and weaknesses. It has an activity to carry out a quantitative content analysis on some made up lonely hearts ads. They can do an inter-rater check as well to ensure consistency between two observers. It includes a ppt and a notes sheet with activities throughout to check learning. The students complete the notes sheet as we work through the ppt so they have some bits to fill in and activities to complete.

This editable 32 page workbook is perfect for independent study or guiding students throughout the lesson, for experienced and new teachers alike. On Page 2-3 is the specification, with three faces so they can RAG rate their understanding throughout the topic. It also has a column they can tick to indicate that they have revised each area. On Pages 4-6 is a glossary which could be used as revision or in lesson as a key terms test. On each page there is space for students to complete information or activities to demonstrate their understanding and completion of the topic. When printing, I would recommend converting the PowerPoint to PDF as this may cause some formatting issues with some printers.

In this double lesson, learners are introduced to Romanian orphan studies such as Michael Rutter (1998). We start by looking at the context and what led to such conditions in Romania in the first place before watching some clips and images of Romania’s orphanages in the past. We look at the key study of Rutter, followed by some true or false qs, evaluation task, MCQs, research task, short exam style question with mark scheme, box plenary and we finish with a kahoot quiz. This lesson introduces learners to the role of the father. We start by discussing what the role of the father might be and how it has changed, before looking at numerous studies with different findings on the role of the father. Knowledge is consolidated through some multiple choice questions and true or false statements. Students complete an evaluation task before we go through evaluation points as a class to fill any gaps in understanding. A collection of revision resources for whole lessons or individual tasks. These are very easy to amend to whatever topic you want to focus on. Rotating squares - Includes 11 essay questions. The aim is to give each student one essay question, give them a set time to complete the sections (AO1, I&D and AO3) then swap with another student for a set time, and again. Eventually, there will be several contributions for each essay. Articulate - 60 Key terms of studies. Students work in teams. One student picks a card and must explain their word without saying the word. Others must figure out the word. Revision clocks - Assign a topic. Give students 1 minute to complete each section of the clock. Ask or answer - cut out cards. Student independently completes either asking the question that fits the answer or answering the question. Someone who - You will need to add your own questions. Give students a sheet each, they need to ask their peers to tell them the answer and state who told them. I have adapted the excellent resource from user Astronyxis to fit the formula and notation used in the AQA GCE Human Biology Students' Statistics Sheet (version 2.2).
