Art & Photography Teacher - over the years I've had time to create many resources that I am finally getting around to sharing to hopefully help and inspire others. I hope you enjoy teaching with them and it gives you some new inspiration too.

Introduction to Photography – AQA GCSE Specification (Year 9?)

(0)
Introduction to Photography – AQA GCSE Specification Complete with: • Teaching PowerPoint - with notes. • Printable resources PowerPoint - starter and other activities to aid learning - all designed around the PowerPoint that can be printed and laminated for the lessons. Scheme of work written for each lesson, can be changed or adapted to suit. I designed this project to be an exciting introduction into photography, covering all elements in photography around the camera settings and covering all areas of the specification. I have based this project around ‘miniature’ photography, the only props needed would be miniature railway people, Lego figures and toy cars – which can all be brought in bulk on eBay, or encourage students to get their own. Each artist has been chosen to work around the skills taught and build upon one another, with Photoshop tutorial sheets included to assist learning and success criteria on each slide to give the students the opportunity to take responsibility for their own learning. Finally, the project ends to allow students to produce their own developmental series which looks at how to create a meaningful response and how they might present their work. All links are included in the notes for each artist information/ videos and information on tutorials/ extra videos for support. Project Overview: ⎫ Photographic Keywords ⎫ Genres & Shooting Modes ⎫ 1st Artist Research - Isaac Cordal – Experimenting with shooting modes – How to create a contact sheet (in Photoshop) and annotate. ⎫ Creative Control in Camera Settings ⎫ Depth of Field & Aperture ⎫ 2nd Artist Research - Slinkachu – Experimenting with aperture to create depth of field– Basic editing in Photoshop with tutorials. ⎫ Slinkachu – Presenting – Triptych & Diptych – How to create these in Photoshop. ⎫ Composition ⎫ 3rd Artist Research - Samsofy – Experimenting with composition ⎫ 4th Artist Research – Kim Leuenberger – Experimenting with viewpoints – How to create a tilt shift effect on Photoshop ⎫ Lighting & ISO ⎫ 5th Artist Research - Christopher Boffoli – Experimenting with lighting ⎫ Shutter Speed ⎫ 6th Artist Research - Ekkachai Saelow – How to cut images out on Photoshop (Quick Selection Tool) ⎫ Developing Ideas – Create a meaningful outcome – Project Evaluation You can view the whole resource on: https://vimeo.com/402944737 Please note: The image and artwork used have been credited through source(s) within the properties of the PowerPoint. Sustainability Project - AQA GCSE Spec D&T - PowerPoint, Workbook, Printouts, SOW

Sustainability Project - AQA GCSE Specification (New Spec) Complete with: Teaching PowerPoint - with notes. Student workbook ready to print in PDF format (made in publisher). Student workbook complete, modelled answers from the PowerPoint to help teachers mark (if you are a non specialist or new to the specification). Printable resources powerpoint - starter and other activities to aid learning - all designed around the powerpoint that can be printed and laminated for the lessons. Scheme of work written for each lesson (acting mostly as a double lesson) but can be changed or adapted to suit. I designed this project as a non specialist, going into technology to teach the new specification (AQA). I really enjoyed creating the project, as sustainability is something I am passionate about. I have tried to create a complete project, a project that can be taught by anyone (especially as more of us are expected to teach across subjects we are not familiar with). Each slide in the powerpoint works alongside the student workbook and the resources provided for tasks during the lesson. It all interlinks to avoid any gaps in learning and ensure all areas are covered in such a broad and theoretical part of the subject. Majority of the information is from the AQA GCSE book as stated in the powerpoint with pages to refer to, other information has been taken from websites listed on the slides at the bottom in notes to refer to also. Project Overview: Sustainability - consumption, environment and responsibilities as a designer/ manufacture. Sustainability of materials - the positive and negative impacts on new products and the new technologies to develop a sustainable future. 6R’s - the hierarchy of options in responsible and sustainable design. The role we play as consumers at reducing waste. Product Analyse - Test and analyse against the 6R’s with a case study - supermarket carrier bags. Exam question - break down an exam question by AQA and use peer and self assessment based on the mark scheme to further their understanding. Recycling - how waste can be disposed of with the least impact on the planet. Ecological Impact - To understand the impact that society has on natural resources and the carbon produced during the manufacture of products. Upcycling - students can upcycle something at the end of the project, ideas are around household items that could be recycled e.g. milk carton.
