This resource is based on a scenario for Joseph, aged 29. The information contained within this mimics the information that’s available in an exam paper. While I’ve titled this Christmas revision, it could easily be given out at any other time. There are 15 days worth of tasks for students to completed which mostly mimic exam questions. I have created a range of other scenarios which are available for sale which could be substituted into this document to increase the usability of this. I have created six scenarios for BTEC Tech in H&SC, Component 3. These mimic the exam with an introduction (location, medical history, family/friends/social interactions, day to day life), a supplementary piece of information, lifestyle data & physiological data and then goes onto give information to help design a health and wellbeing plan. There are six case studies: Aidan - 16 years old Anne - 32 years old Charis - 21 years old Jean - 70 years old Joseph - 29 years old Paul - 43 years old I have not added exam questions so that you could tailor this information into a lesson or an exam question of your choice (i.e. you might want to focus on a particular element of PIES for section A questions). I plan to use these as scaffolds within my lessons rather than an actual exam paper. There are a range of other resources available for this unit too. I create my own exam questions and use questions from past papers to allow students to practice these longer answer, high value questions prior to their exam. There is a document for each learning outcome. They are blank documents with questions & activities to support students with their revision. You could print them as a booklet or as individual sheets when appropriate. My intention is to give these to my students for them to test their knowledge & help them revise key concepts. They could be used as a plenary or as part of retrieval practice as you progress through your scheme of learning & progress. I have created knowledge organisers for BTEC Tech Award in Health & Social Care, Component 3. There is a document for each LA comprising of a number of pages. Each document contains questions and activities for students to complete to support their revision. I have also made a revision clock for each of the LA where students are timed to write down everything they know for the topic. They can they add to their notes in a different colour to highlight what they do and do not know. My intention is to give these to my students for them to test their knowledge & help them revise key concepts. They could be used as a plenary or as part of retrieval practice as you progress through your scheme of learning & progress.They’re designed to be printed on A3 sheets.

There are 9 revision clocks in this resource. There is one for each LO plus an additional three for where the topics are large or students could benefit from more time on a particular topic. They are designed to support revision of a topic. Students get 5 minutes per section to write everything they know about a topic. I tend to ask students to write what they know in one colour then everything they don’t (supported by revision guides, resources, etc.) in another to help them understand what they do and do not know. This resource supports revision for Component 3 of BTEC Tech Award in Health & Social Care. This covers all aspects of the unit specification and allows students to consolidate their knowledge. To use best, give students a time limit to complete each section with all the information they know about the section. When you tell them to move on they must. To take this a step further, ask students to revisit each section & add additional information with a different coloured pen. This resource will allow your students to consolidate their knowledge as revision. This covers all sections of Learning Aim A as detailed in the specification & is best printed on A3 paper to give students lots of room. To use this I give to my students before an end of topic test. You give students 5 minutes per section (as indicated by the time on the clock) to write as much as they can about that section. I usually take this one step further & give them 2.5 minutes per section to write as much as they can in one colour. I then give them another 2.5 minutes per section to use their notes to add to the section all the things they didn’t remember; ideally, this should be done in another colour so students can see the difference between what they know and what they need to revise more carefully. I have designed 16 revision activities which are linked to LO1-LO3 of R021. This will be set as an Easter revision activity (a small task for almost every day of the holidays) but it could be adapted to be completed over a different period of time. The aim is to get students to complete something everyday to help them for their exam in June. This resource is designed to support students studying Cambridge Nationals in Health and Social Care. The resources focus on R021 (examined unit). There is a knowledge organiser for each LO. These are black with questions & activities for students to complete to support with revision; all are multiple pages long. This could be given after a topic in preparation for an assessment or as a homework activity. It’s easy to print one page too so that you can split the activities to suit yourself. There is at least one revision clock per LO also. The aim of these are to provide a revision activity which is timed. I use them for a full lesson or half a lesson. Students must write down everything they know about each section in one colour. They then supplement this information with research using other resources. Thsi is written in another colour so students (& teachers) are aware of what they need to concentrate on. There is also a revision activity for a holiday - one activity per day for students to complete. I set this at Easter. They are small activities designed for continual revision as support for students before their exam. Easy to breakdown further if you’d like to alter. This resource is 18 key computing words created using Photoshop. I use these by printing them out & laminating them before sticking them up around my room. They are decorated with colourful patterns to make them more attractive & have a pink border (supporting girls to see Computing as a subject for them). They also contains a QR code to take you to a site for a definition. They can also be used as key word prompts - my colleague uses them as flip cards. The words are: algorithm, binary, CPU, debugging, GUI, hardware, input, input device, logic, output, output device, programming language, pseudocode, RAM, software, storage device, syntax and variable.

I have created a revision clock & a knowledge organiser for Component 3, Learning Aim A. The revision clock is best used in timed conditions. Give students a time (5 minutes) per section to write everything they know about the section. Take it a step further by getting students to add additional notes using resources in a different colour to show what they need to revise. The knowledge organiser is a 5 page document with questions, activities, etc. to help students to consolidate their knowledge. Give at the end of a topic or in stages to support retrieval practice.
