This sticker book has been designed for students who are working within phase 2, phase 3 or phase 4 Phonics, typically Reception. However, it can be used by anyone who is ready to practice early reading and spellings. High Frequency words are words that commonly appear in written text, so children are encouraged to learn them early which will increase fluency when reading. Some of the words listed are highlighted in different colours, this is because they are classed as ‘tricky’ or ‘sight words’. The student will need to learn these to read these words by sight. The other words in black are fully decodable, this means that the student with be able to blend them by sounding them out. We have included a bonus material of flashcards which can be cut out for future practice. Once the student is able to read the word at least three times, we would suggest ticking the square box next to the word. Once the student is able to read and spell the word then a sticker should be placed on the star as a way of showing achievement. Year 2 Grammar Flashcards have been created to help children understand the definitions that they will come across whilst learning grammar at school. Grammattack KS1 & KS2 is a memorisation activity designed for children in KS2. At a foundation level it would be good for children to understand the definition of certain grammar terms. Having a basic understanding of the terms would allow the children to have a working knowledge during test situations. Once they have memorised the basic terms they can dive further into what the terms means during their grammar lesson and writing tasks.
