I have been a qualified Classics teacher for ten years and have worked in both the maintained and private sectors. I have held the position of Head of Classics in three consecutive schools. I have also taught several other humanities subjects over the years, including RS, History and English. I have taught all of these to both GCSE and A level/IB. The resources I offer have been over a period of ten years. They are all engaging for young learners and contain relevant challenging questions.

The lesson involves group work and introduces pupils to a wide range of mythological creatures from Classical myth to Harry Potter. They learn what stories the creatures come from, why they are appealing and why they are still used today in fiction and films. This lesson can be used as part of project work or even something more creative such as designing a film poster.
