Revision mat containing the topic content for the AQA homeostasis and response topic. Higher content is clearly labelled. I gave this to my classes at the start of the topic to aid with independent working skills throughout lessons but also acted as a great revision tool and as an information sheet to base quiz questions from at the start of each lesson.
A Power Point used to introduce new year 7 pupils to secondary school. The slides run through some of the main differences between primary school and secondary school. The later slides contain a variety of quick activities that can be used as ice breakers for a new group of pupils/form class getting to know each other.
Homeostasis and response summary revision mat for GCSE AQA. Could be used as a homework activity or a review activity in class. Ideal as a last minute quick revision summary for all or for recall facts for lower ability.
Ecology revision mat following new AQA GCSE trilogy course. I used this as a revision tool prior to both end of topic tests and final GCSE examinations. It could also be given at the start of the topic to act as reading before or during the topic and to help with independence throughout the topic. EBI comments to challenge pupils.
Revision question mat to be used at the end of the earth’s atmosphere GCSE unit of work. The revision questions focus on key recall information and link to the GCSE AQA Trilogy Chemistry specification.
A leavers power point (could be completed with registration class or as an assembly) to remember the year 6 time at school. There are slides with sections for you to add:
Memories of the individual class for each year they have spent at school
Memories from other teachers
Advice from the teachers for them as they go forward to secondary school.
I have included generic ideas of memories but these can be altered and changed to suit your particular year group.
In order to use this resource fully, you must be able to add images/memories of your own class.
Complete set of revision mats and question sheets for topics covered in the Biology Trilogy AQA GCSE.
Topics include: Cells, Organisation, Health and Disease, Bioenergetics, Homeostasis and response, Inheritance Variation and Evolution and Ecology.
Revision mats can be given as a revision tool or as pre-exposure before teaching a topic.
All resources are handwritten and in full colour (my classes found this more interesting and engaging to look at as it made a change from the typed versions they are used to).
Question sheets link directly to revision mats and all resources follow the specification.
Ecology questions are included on the revision mat and take the form of EBI comments.
KS3 Revision activity. Includes all of the following topics: Matter, Forces, Ecosystems, Energy, Reactions, Organisms, Earth, Waves, Genes and Electromagnets, Maths for Scientists.
At the start of the lesson pupils use bubble diagram to write down all they can remember from the topic. Then use the knowledge brain spill to condense all key points covered in each of the topics either in note/diagram form. At the end of the lesson revisit the bubble diagram to see progress from lesson. (could use another colour pen at the end of the lesson).
Could be used by higher ability and lower ability or as a group work activity. Can be edited to include questions to focus revision for lower ability.
