We sell unique, child friendly teaching resources to give children back their love of learning. Education has become very test driven, with many resources in a 'test format' . This can become very uninspiring for learners and be a cause for lack of motivation and enthusiasm. At Applefortheteacher, we create teaching resources to give children the skills they need academically, socially and emotionally, whilst encouraging that important 'love of learning'. Inspiring learners to thrive!

Early Steps in Writing Poster

This is a lovely poster to support educational professionals and parents in building up strength in hand and arm muscles to allow children to write. There is much more to writing than just putting pen to paper in the early stages. This poster will give ideas of strategies which can be used to support development in writing in the Early Years, or when writing is difficult.

Getting To Know You Reading Activity

This is a great activity to do with learners on their return from the summer holidays, when starting in a new class. It is also a great speaking and listening activity. Print out on card or laminate them, cut them out and let the children ask away in their groups or pairs. All the questions are the types that children can relate to, allowing them to find out about each other.

This is a lovely activity for children with Special Educational Needs working below the national curriculum. There are illustrations and photographs of animals. The children can listen to the sounds of the animals which an adult can play on the computer or make the sounds themselves, the children can then point to the animal that would make that particular sound. Can also be used to encourage children to name the animals, or point to animals when prompted by name.

These posters enhance a KS2 literacy display, giving learners a visual prompt of words to use for co-ordinating conjunctions, which should be added to join words, phrases and clauses. Also included is a FANBOYS word mat, which can be used for individuals or groups to provide an independent reminder.

This is a great resource for children working at P-levels in Science and for children in EYFS. Children can sort the animals into the broader categories of land, sky and sea to assess their level of understanding that different animals need a different environment.

These are great sheets which I have used with a range of learners, including learners with Special Educational Needs who were not able to write. They signed/verbalised their caption for an adult to write down word for word. A great assessment tool for all learners to show their level of understanding. Can also be used for children to write their own captions for EYFS, KS1 and KS2. A fabulous resource to inspire creative writing and thoughts.

These cards and the sentence board can all be laminated to support children in building simple sentences as part of the animals including humans topic in science. Select a card of each colour and build a range of sentences in the correct context. They can also be used to create silly sentences.

A fantastic powerpoint presentation suitable for EYFS, KS1 and SEN learners. A very engaging activity which interacts with the children encouraging them to guess shapes before they are revealed, the slides slowly move down each shape, giving opportunities for children to work out the names of the shapes. 7 x 2D shapes are revealed in total. Putting the love back in learning.

A lovely child friendly activity to support the early counting skills and number recognition. Say the number, show the number, colour the number, draw the number and finally cut and stick the correct number of zoo animals into the zoo. All animals and the numbers 1-5 sheets are included.

This is a fun and engaging activity, encouraging early learners to recognise and match numerals by being a postal worker, delivering letters to houses. The houses and addresses can be laminated and placed indoors or outdoors, to allow children to do their postal jobs and deliver by attaching each address to the correct house.
