Banksy KS2 Art Unit of Work - 6 week planning *UPDATED*
A six-week unit of work based around the artist Banksy. Children will be encouraged to appraise street art and learn about Banksy. They will then use stencilling techniques and internet based tools to create a Banksy inspired piece with a moral message.
I have done this unit with a Year 6 class but it could be adapted to suit any KS2 year group.

Great Fire of London Class Assembly
An assembly script of a short play based on the Great Fire of London. Targeted at Key Stage 1, but could be extended for a Key Stage 2 class if needed.

What is Pink? Classic Poetry English Planning Christina Rossetti
A week long unit on the classic poem What is Pink? by Christina Rossetti The unit helps children to understand classic poetry by introducing the poem in a way which they can easily understand. The children are asked to explore the theme of colour, read and discuss the poem as well as answer comprehension questions and then plan and write their own verses in a similar style.
All resources are included such as planning sheets, comprehension questions and sheets and templates for writing.
It could be easily adapted for Foundation Stage, Year 1 or Year 2.

Monet Art Six week Planning
A six week unit of planning for Art. It focuses on the artist Claude Monet and includes finger painting and clay sculpture. Lots of resources included such as a fact file, copyright free images, evaluation sheet and many website links. I have used this with Year 2, but it could easily be adapted for Year 1 or 3.

Long Division Powerpoint and Activity
A powerpoint with step-by-step instructions for long division and a worksheet with questions to practise long division.

Year 2 Guided Reading Planner
A proforma for Guided Reading with all the Year 2 objectives down the side and examples of key questions in the top box. Insert children's names in the columns and then record comments and question answers during a guided reading session. This is a word document so you can edit out my questions at the top (they are just an example) and change to suit the book you are using.

How to use ellipsis
This powerpoint explains how to use ellipsis correctly in writing. It clearly states the different uses of an ellipsis with examples. It also provides some sentences for the children to explain how the ellipsis has been used in each case.

Compare Number Sentences - Year 2
A powerpoint activity and 2 differentiated activities for comparing number sentences using less than, greater than and =. This resource is aimed at year 2.

Non-Chronological Report/Information Text on Dragons with task letter from Dragon Hunters
A non-chronological report about a new mythical dragon called the Frost Dragon which can be used for Talk for Writing to learn the structure or annotated to mark the features. Also included is a letter from the Dragon Hunters Association asking the children to create their own reports about the Shrek Dragon. You can edit the letter to change the dragon you want them to write about and add your class name as the recipient.
I used this with Year 2 children and have included two differentiated writing templates to assist in the writing process.

Lacrosse PE Planning Year 5 or Year 6 (Beginners)
A 6-week plan to teach Lacrosse skills to upper key stage 2. It starts with the children having little or no prior knowledge of Lacrosse and ends with a game of Pop Lacrosse (teams of 5). The unit could easily suit Year 5 or Year 6 and explains how to do some of the basic skills required for Pop Lacrosse.

The Tyger Classic Poetry English Plans
A 5 day plan for classic poetry based on the poem The Tyger by William Blake. This has originally be used with a Year 5 class (9-10 year olds) but could be adapted for other ages. It introduces the poem to the children in an accessible way and then encourages short and longer writing opportunities.
All resources are included as well as an annotated version of the poem to analyse the language and structure.
