Differentiated Statutory/common exception words perfect for early morning work for mixed age or mixed ability classes. Each slide has a different selection of KS1 and y3/4 words. Red star words are KS1, Green star words are Y3/4 (initial letters a-n)and blue star words are also Y3/4 (initial letter n-t). I have found this really useful in letting the children subtly choose words they are unfamiliar with without them knowing they are from previous year’s statutory word list. In our school we use the first half of the y3/4 list in Y3 and the second half in Y4 so the powerpoints are essentially y2, y3 and y4. KS1 words have been chosen with similar sounds or theme to aid memory. I hope this saves you some time!
