A year 9 homelearning booklet which covers some of the key concepts that students will have learned during year 7 and 8. I have been using this since september and set one sheet per week. So far I have received excellent feedback from students Questions are repeated over time to try and improve knowledge retention rate and general understanding of foundation concepts in science. Topics covered are: Forces Electricity Cells and organisation Health and Nutrition Energy Atoms, elements and compounds (including atomic structure) Chemical reactions Respiration and photosynthesis

The lesson is a KS3 lesson aimed at developing students knowledge of how the body systems individually aid with respiration. Students will research the different systems and collaborate to form a larger understanding in groups. Fully differentiated with printable info and work sheets on the power point.

The following resource is a revision lesson on genetics split into two main activities: 1. A differentiated review worksheet that pupils complete that covers the fundamental ideas (Worksheet on the powerpoint). Full answers are given on the power point for peer/self assessment. 2. A Review learning grid. Pupils work in pairs and answer questions in order to earn points. Fully engaging when coupled with simple prizes (merits or even material prizes) *Pupils roll a set of dice and move to the corresponding grid co-ordinate. They answer the question in their book and earn the points. Questions have different levels of difficulty to challenge all pupils. Comment on other ways you use the grid!
