This is my Harry Potter themed Rounding to 10, 100 and 1000 booklet. Here are my top tips for getting the most out of it. If you’re using this booklet for general revision, I recommend completing ALL the activities in order, BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD and PLATINUM. Make sure to mark your answers before moving on to the next section! Otherwise, I recommend you complete the Check In task and then mark your answers. From there, decide where in the booklet is appropriate for you to begin. For example, if you get some of the bronze questions wrong, start on the bronze practice section. If you get ALL the Check In questions correct, skip straight to the PLATINUM activity and challenge yourself. Enjoy! Miss B

Structured half termly Hegarty Maths homework booklets. There are versions populated with clip numbers (we use these with Y7&8, the clip numbers align with our curriculum). There are also blank versions (we use these with Y9&10). The number of weeks in each booklet aligns with our term dates.

Bell activity used weekly with my classes. Students unscramble the key words for the topic. Usually linked to learning objectives/outcomes that they highlight during lessons. Literacy focus, with students discussing what the key words could be and their definitions. (5-10 minute settler activity).

A multiplication grid for each week of the school year. 1 to 10 times tables with missing values so students have the challenge of working backwards. This is used weekly with my classes. Timed, 5 minutes to complete as much as they can. Students try and beat their time/progress each time. LA students spend some time writing out the times tables they struggle with under the grid before the timer starts; HA students complete the grid and then write out their 11-15 times tables underneath.
