Colabs for Classrooms

COLAB resources to teach programming at GCSE and KS3. COLAB's are a relatively new way to teach programming in schools. They enable you to combine worksheets and live code into one resource. Text areas are editable by pupils, code cells will run on the same document. Feedback comments can also be added, and these will print with the worksheet, showing all output. Can be fully integrated with Google Classroom in the same way as any other document.

GCSE Colab - Programming1. NCCE-Teach Computing

(0)
These Colabs are to be used with the Teach Computing (NCCE) GCSE Curriculum, programming 1 unit. Combining PRIMM methodology & live coding in one worksheet. If you are new to Colabs, they combine text cells along with Python code cells. This allows you to combine the two in a single interactive worksheet. Ideally suited to PRIMM methods, as employed by the NCCE units, pupils can work through different sections that can include instructions, investigations (Q&A), modify code and then make their own code. Shared through Google Classroom, teachers are then able to view the Colabs, and add comments when needed. If evidence is ever needed, the COlab can be printed, with executed code and comments intact. Specifically written to work with the NCCE Teach Computing, GCSE Programming 1 unit. You will need to extract the files from the downloaded zip file, and then upload these into your Google Drive.
