This resource introduces translation of shape clearly and simply. It can be used to demonstrate translation by moving shapes on a grid and children then have the opportunity to give original and new co-ordinates. Key shape vocabulary is reinforced: vertices, congruent, co-ordinates, position, translate/translation. The worksheet that accompanies this resource can be found on the final slide and used to address any misconceptions through discussion as a plenary. A PDF of the resource is included.
