Easy to use DIRT feedback and evidencing progression sheet which uses Bloom’s matched to the new 9-1 GCSE gradings. Can be used for any KS3 or KS4 subject. It’s really quick for marking. To use - Highlight the skill they’ve used, e.g ‘you have explained the meaning of key phrases such as ……’ Highlight what they could do next to improve, e.g ‘evaluate (judge and assess) the most important reasons.’ Highlight their ‘do it now’ task, such as 'Write a detailed conclusion evaluating (add in subject), considering (add in item) and weighing up the pros and cons of each, reaching a conclusion, with exceptional SPAG. On the same page their is a green-shaded box for them to demonstrate immediate progress through the ‘do it now’ task. They can then stick it in their books and you can return to see it or show it as evidence any time! This works for any subject which involves any sort of assessed writing tasks. 1 hour, fully resourced lesson which provides an overview and introduction to the Iluminati, investigating whether it is a real alternative religious movement or a conspiracy theory. Students always ask to learn about the Illuminati and I’ve never had an excuse to make a lesson on it until I made this alternative religions and new movements unit - so here it is! This lesson is the sixth in my ‘Alternative Religions and New Movements’ Unit - originally created for year 9, but easily amended for any KS3 / KS4 group. The lesson can easily be used in isolation, however. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is useful for RE or as part of a Fake News Unit, or could be used as a standalone lesson as something different for a drop-down-day. Students will discover who Extinction Rebellion and Greta Thunberg are, what they and similar groups and people are trying to achieve, why the urgency and why some people oppose some of the current methods of protest. Students will then form their own views on whether peaceful protest is really enough in the face of a global climate emergency. This is the first of 12 sessions which will cover all aspects of employability skills, as well as serve as a step-by-step guide for schools and students that are signed up to the LikeToBe website. A KS3 PSHCE lesson which serves as both an introduction to the concept of disability discrimination and the 2010 Equality Act. The lesson, created by MACS Charity with EC Resources, allows students to investigate the benefits to society of the 2010 Equality Act by studying cases of discrimination in the wider world. These resources also serve to highlight how MACS charity (Microphthalmia, Anophthalmia and Coloboma Support) helps children with visual impairments and prepares them for life as independent and disabled UK citizens. The lesson lasts around 2 hours and includes differentiated activities, case study investigations, clip tasks and group activities as well as guidance to show how the lesson meets sections of the new PSHE draft curriculum from the DfE for 2020 and the statutory Citizenship curriculum for KS3.
