Personal Branding - Careers

(4)
An hour long employability skills / careers lesson which was focuses on the idea of having a ‘personal brand’ online. This is something which can be tainted by your social media mishaps or unflattering / incriminating images shared by others. The lesson emphasises the fact that it is commonplace for employers to Google potential employees, so we all need to think about our digital footprints and what they say about us. This pack includes a detailed PowerPoint, information pack, differentiated activities, clips tasks with questions and a literacy / debate focus task. These resources have been designed to be engaging, detailed and easy to follow. The lesson is in the ZIP file as it is large. The images have been uploaded to show a few examples of the slides in the lesson :) Hundreds more free and inexpensive PSHE 2020, Tutor Time, RE, Citizenship GCSE, RSE and Careers + Finance resources at our store: EC RESOURCES Teaching PSHE, RE or Citizenship GCSE next year? DIRT Feedback AFL

(2)
Easy to use DIRT feedback and evidencing progression sheet which uses Bloom’s matched to the new 9-1 GCSE gradings. Can be used for any KS3 or KS4 subject. It’s really quick for marking. To use - Highlight the skill they’ve used, e.g ‘you have explained the meaning of key phrases such as ……’ Highlight what they could do next to improve, e.g ‘evaluate (judge and assess) the most important reasons.’ Highlight their ‘do it now’ task, such as 'Write a detailed conclusion evaluating (add in subject), considering (add in item) and weighing up the pros and cons of each, reaching a conclusion, with exceptional SPAG. On the same page their is a green-shaded box for them to demonstrate immediate progress through the ‘do it now’ task. They can then stick it in their books and you can return to see it or show it as evidence any time! This works for any subject which involves any sort of assessed writing tasks. It has literally saved me weeks worth of time over the years. Many more inexpensive and free resources at here.

The Illuminati - Religious Movement or Conspiracy Theory?

(2)
1 hour, fully resourced lesson which provides an overview and introduction to the Iluminati, investigating whether it is a real alternative religious movement or a conspiracy theory. Students always ask to learn about the Illuminati and I’ve never had an excuse to make a lesson on it until I made this alternative religions and new movements unit - so here it is! This lesson is the sixth in my ‘Alternative Religions and New Movements’ Unit - originally created for year 9, but easily amended for any KS3 / KS4 group. The lesson can easily be used in isolation, however. The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. It is useful for RE or as part of a Fake News Unit, or could be used as a standalone lesson as something different for a drop-down-day. The pack includes a 1 hour long PowerPoint, differentiated challenge activities, worksheets, clips and literacy focus tasks. These resources have been designed to be engaging, detailed and easy to follow. You can find many more inexpensive and free PSHE, Citizenship and RE resources at my shop: MORE RE RESOURCES

Sexual Harassment Introduction - Upper KS2 Year 6 / Lower KS3 Year 7 **Sexual harassment - what is it and why do we need to learn about it? ** In this introductory lesson, the students will revisit their previous knowledge of consent and personal boundaries, as we gently explore the concept of sexual harassment and the steps we can take to keep ourselves safe. Intended as a first introduction to the topic, the lesson is suitable for students in Upper KS2 (Year 6) or possibly Lower KS3 students in Year 7.
