This resource is two documents, one for ages 2-3 and one for 3-4’s. Each document breaks down the maths learning intentions outlined in the 2021 Development Matters document, into a maths curriculum, with clear and manageable weekly objectives. This ensures that all staff working in your setting are able to ensure that they are delivering the maths content required, ensuring that children make good progression within the wide range of mathematical and shape space and measure knowledge and skills. The weekly objectives can be used to supplement maths learning through play, while in provision (ensuring that resources and invitations to play are regularly refreshed to support maths progress) or to inform small group or whole class maths sessions.

A fantastically simple Nursery activity plan. There is space for differentiated development matters statements and cross curricular learning opportunities. The beauty of this format is the structure of the plan. .. Because we know that..... (links to your assessment and children's interests) We are going to....... (explain the activity) We will will know learning has taken place when..... (describe what you are looking for in assessments) There is also a space for adding the provocations you will set up around the classroom (As with the Reggio approach) This download includes a copy of the blank planning template and a free completed example with a Jack and the Beanstalk activity!

Pirate Themed Bingo Cards from Units to Hundreds

Children love Bingo! Bring maths to life and combine your maths objectives with a Pirate theme with these visually appealing differentiated bingo cards. unit cards = 8 sets (numicon coloured numbers) teen cards = 6 sets tens cards = 5 sets hundreds cards = 4 sets PLUS: Jolly roger cards to cover the numbers as they go along (instead of dabbing!) You can hold up / read out the number cards or even show the Numicon plate / group of objects / fingers / higher than x / lower than y etc.....you can get really creative with this resource! I use these within key group time in Nursery! The children share a card between two to emphasise peer support systems. Some of my children are past units and teen numbers. These children can be given a tens or even hundreds card - simple differentiation and they love the challenge!

Nursery Weekly Planning

Sick of dull table format planning? Feel like your wonderful, vibrant learning environment doesn't fit into little boxes on a sheet of A4? Me too. So I created this colourful learning map style overview. In my room, I print one of these for each of the three Nursery key groups and edit with the HA/LA children's names and the areas of learning which that key worker is responsible for. Key workers evaluate the learning in the boxes provided then on Friday mornings we discuss the planning required for the following week. With this download you will receive a completed plan and a blank template. I have also included a learning map which can be given to each group leader in order to record the learning and plan next steps. If this is used, you can use the second version of the weekly plan which covers all groups in one go. Happy planning!

Long Term Planning Overview for Nurseries

Save precious time by using this resource as the bare bones on which to plan an exciting, objective led Nursery Curriculum. This resource offers a half-term-by-half-term break down of key nursery objectives across the seven areas of learning defined in the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage guidance. This plan suggests a key objective to focus on each week to ensure full coverage of the developmental stages between 22-36 months and 30-50 months (although as with all good Early Years practise, the classroom will always reflect all areas of learning at all times). Topics and key questions are suggested but you can edit this in order to comply with the needs and interests of your children. Similarly term-dates can be edited to match each academic year.

These are not your bog-standard grid style planning proformas. Appealing to the eye, colourful (and more engaging to read for support staff) these clear plans have space for differentiated learning intentions, child feedback, next steps, whole class, group and booster groups as well as extras such as 'word of the week', AOP enhancement, 'Wow factor' and home learning suggestions. For less than a cup of coffee you can have a weekly overview, literacy and maths weekly overview templates as well as matching key group planning and feedback sheets, designed to be used within the AOP rather than table top. Enjoy!
