Frankenstein Revision Quiz - Quotes, characters, music, pictures - TEAM QUIZ -Whole lesson

(0)
I created this for the revision of Frankenstein at GCSE level. This is a multiple round team quiz. It can be given to individuals but it works better with teams because it encourages them to discuss the myriad of potential answers. Each slide has the answers in its notes. Some rounds (such as the picture and music ones) have answers which are not so definitive. If a student gives a different answer and can justify why they have chosen it, allow them the point, as this is where the revision is happening. I tend to do a round and then ask them to swap papers for marking. This means you can keep a running total for each team and make it more competitive. For the music round, I access Youtube. If your school does not allow you access, I recommend downloading the tracks and making a playlist on your phone or laptop. The objects round is optional. Prior to the quiz lesson, you can set a homework task - students must choose an object that symbolises one of the characters and be prepared to give their reasons why. If they do the task well and there is a decent range of different characters, it will work as a round. Alternatively, they could be like my class where every single member 'forgot' to do their homework... I have a similar quiz for Romeo and Juliet, so please look at my other resources.

TWELFTH NIGHT Key QUOTES Poster GCSE Revision ENGLISH Literature EIGHT CHARACTER BUNDLE!!!

8 Resources
This my series of posters created to assist revision of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. In this money-saving Bundle you get a poster of each of the following characters: Orsino, Olivia, Malvolio, Sebastian, Viola, Sir Toby Belch, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, and Antonio. Each poster features multiple relevant quotes, linked to character traits. These traits serve as the ‘point’ in a PEE/PEAS/PETER style response. The posters work equally well printed in A4 or A3, and you could even miniaturise them further to serve as individual GCSE revision resources. Please note that if you have any trouble with the pdf file not being in colour, you can contact me at wezcartoons@gmail.com and I will send you a copy direct. The posters can be bought individually but this bundle allows you to save money. Please look at the other resources I have available and, if you have downloaded one that you have found useful, I would be really grateful if you could leave a quick review. Thanks!

FRANKENSTEIN Key QUOTES Revision - HENRY CLERVAL - English LITERATURE Revision GCSE

Victor Frankenstein’s best friend, Henry Clerval, is the latest poster in my Frankenstein series. Each poster in the series displays quotes that will be useful to explore as revision for the English Literature GCSE. If printed in A4, they are ideal for general classroom use, while A3 makes for decent wall displays. You can even create individual revision booklets for students by reproducing the posters in A5. There are a number of different ways these can be used in class. Blanking out areas of the poster (in Powerpoint or with good old-fashioned white-out and a photocopier) means you can ask students to fill in the blanks. I often ask students to link each of the quotes or comments to a given theme and then explain why that quote is significant. The posters can also serve as inspiration for students to make their own, based on other characters and/or other texts. Other characters in the series which are currently available are Victor, Alphonse, Justine, Elizabeth, The Creature, and Robert Walton. Once I have completed Caroline and The DeLacey family I will make a bundle available so you can save some money if you want the complete set. Please take a look at my shop by clicking on my picture or on the name wezcartoons. There are a number of other texts I have covered (listed below) and I am always willing to take on suggestions for my next series. An Inspector Calls Blood Brothers Animal Farm Twelfth Night Macbeth Romeo and Juliet A Christmas Carol Pigeon English The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

This is from a series of posters I made for revision of the characters in Pigeon English. They each display quotes and comments that would be useful to revise for the GCSE English Literature exam. This poster is of Harrison and Lydia’s mother, who is unnamed but referred to by Harrison as Mamma. A5 prints make for really good individual student booklets, while producing A4 versions is ideal for general class use. If you’re wanting to display them, they look really good in A3. As well as display, these posters can be given as a task for students to build on the quotes, linking each one to specific themes in the novel and/or explaining why the trait of the character is significant. Another common use is to inspire students to make their own poster for other characters. There are currently posters for Lydia, Harrison and Miquita also available and the following characters will be coming very soon: Julius, X-Fire, the Dead Boy, Auntie Sonia, Jordan, Dean, and the Pigeon. Once they are all completed, I will be making them available as a bundle. Please note, I also sell similar posters for An Inspector Calls; Romeo & Juliet; Macbeth; Blood Brothers; A Christmas Carol; Frankenstein; The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde. All can be found in my TES shop - just click on the name ‘wez cartoons’ or on the picture.

This is from a series of posters I created for the revision of the characters in Pigeon English by Stephen Kelman . This particular poster is of Harrison’s girlfriend, Poppy Morgan. A5 prints make ideal individual student booklets, while A4 is perfect for general classroom use. If used for display, they look good blown up to A3 size. As well as display, students can be tasked with linking each quote or comment with a given theme, or expanding on them with an explanation of the significance of each character trait. Another common use is to inspire students to create their own posters for other characters or texts. There are thirteen characters in the series: Harrison; Lydia; Mamma; Auntie Sonia; Miquita; Dean; Poppy; Jordan; X-Fire; Killa; Julius; The Dead Boy and The Pigeon. For the best value, look for the bundle - you can easily click on my name ‘wez cartoons’ or on my picture to find the bundle in my TES shop. POETRY COMPARISON - General Election - WALSH vs DUFFY - Net Worked vs Campaign

This is a Powerpoint presentation on two poems, encouraging practice in analysing unseen poetry for GCSE. I used it with a top set Y9 group who were interested in the general election. It won't work with everyone, and it does require some understanding of the context. The emphasis is on commenting on Theme, Language, Form and Tone and comparing these four sections. The mnemonic used is Turn Left For Tanhouse, because of the local area, but this can easily be changed to 'Town' for more general use. Also included are two Word documents with the poems on, which can serve as handouts for the students to annotate.
