'Just Call me the Pied Piper' is a sure fire hit play for a large cast age 5-11 by Freddie Green. Approx 45 min. Lovely original songs supplied as vocal tracks and backing tracks, (no musical ability needed). Ideal for any time of year. Normal retail price £42.50. Price includes FREE school performance licence. The play begins with colourful action in the market square, but it quickly becomes apparent that all is not well in Hamelin. Where there is grain, there are rats! The Pied Piper arrives and agrees to rid the town of the rats, and the mayor promises him a generous payment plus his daughter’s hand in marriage. The Piper charms the rats away but, on completion of the task, the mayor refuses to keep his promises. In a rage, the Piper charms away the children of Hamelin to a better place in the mountains where people always keep their promises. Hamelin becomes a sad lonely place. Two endings: the traditional ending or the happier ending where the problems are all resolved and a magnificent wedding ends the show!

No musical ability needed Synopsis: It’s breakfast time for an ordinary family. There's No-one Quite Like Me (Musical Play based on "The Ugly Duckling"

A memorable end-of-term show or special extended assembly for ages 5 –11 (Some parts can be narrated by the teacher when used solely with younger pupils.) Duration approx 40-50 min. Fantastic fun to act, sing and dance, but it also explores serious PSHE issues, especially bullying, homelessness and low self esteem. This heart-warming version of “The Ugly Duckling” is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s classic dark tale. Andersen himself was no stranger to hardship and non-acceptance, which is a theme that could be explored in its own right in school. Mother Duck’s last egg hatches into an ugly, ungainly creature, and he is ridiculed and bullied in the barnyard. He runs away to the marshes and is befriended by the wild ducks, but he loses track of them during the hunting season. A travelling gypsy shows kindness to him, and he is then taken in by a farmer and his family. The farmer’s cat, dog and hen become jealous and bully him so he runs away again. At last he matures into a beautiful swan, finds his self-esteem and flies to freedom. Fantastic- A nice simple show with great characters, and thought-provoking songs which are easy to learn. No musical ability needed- just sing and dance to the backing tracks. Brilliant for class lessons too. Comes with script, 12 songs, backing tracks, PowerPoint Presentation, Piano Score, follow-up work and 20 worksheets. School Performance licence included FREE.
