Use as challenge cards for early finishers, extension and revision etc in Upper Key Stage 2 (KS2) Year 5 and Year 6 (Y5 and Y6) - or Second Level, Primary 6 and 7 in Scotland). Multiplying and dividing problem solving skills (mostly multi-step) are practised in a range of contexts with these 48 word problem maths task cards plus a double-sided worksheet. In the file, the question sides of the cards are on the odd numbered pages and the answer sides on the even numbered pages. You can set your printer to print the answers on the reverse but if you do not have a double-sided printing option, print the odd numbered pages, then put the card or paper back in the printer in the correct order and print the even numbered pages on the other side. You can laminate and have students work individually or in groups, checking the answer on the back once they’ve had a go. Alternatively, make it competitive and have individuals or pairs race to solve them, using a timer. A separate card featuring all answers is included if you prefer not to print the answers on the back of the cards. Recording sheets (2 versions) can be printed too if required.

It was originally designed for Year 5 and Year 6 (Y5 / Y6) and equivalents but could work for able Year 4 too. Includes 3 fun Hidden Word / Spot the Mistake Puzzles (and solutions), a 30-card Loop Game / Dominoes Set and 16 Word Problems Cards (8 multi-step and 8 more simple). PDF format. PUZZLES
An engaging alternative to worksheets, these Numeracy puzzles make ideal starter, early finisher or homework activities. There’s one on increasing and decreasing temperature (Celsius), one for simple subtraction calculations with mostly negative number answers and a more challenging puzzle featuring addition and subtraction of negative and positive integers. Puzzles can be completed individually or in pairs / groups. Similar to codebreaker puzzles, a maths-related word is revealed after completing calculations. Each puzzle contains a grid. Within each box is a calculation and a letter. Students circle boxes containing errors. Then they assemble the letters from the circled boxes to reveal a maths word. There’s a further challenge question / task at the bottom of the page linked to the word.
Pupils often forget or avoid checking their work so it’s great to get them carefully checking in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work.
LOOP CARDS / DOMINOES
Fun group / whole class activity to consolidate adding and subtracting negative numbers, using phrases (‘reduce by’, ‘increase’, ‘difference between’ etc). Forms a continuous loop.
WORD PROBLEM CARDS
8 Multi-Step Word Problem Cards and 8 more simple. Solutions can be printed back to back with question side for student self-checking or can be printed and made into separate cards if required. Consolidates understanding of negative numbers in the contexts of temperature (degrees Celsius), money / bank accounts and points in a sporting league. Work well as early finisher challenges. A fun calendar skills maths activity for lower Key Stage 2 (KS2) (originally designed for Year 3 and 4 - Y3 and Y4) - or Primary 4 and 5 in Scotland-, to provide practice, during the Time focus in maths, of reading or using a calendar. It consolidates understanding of months and gives practice of calculating days and weeks after / before etc, developing students’ general understanding of how calendars work. It could be used with lower ability students in Year 5 and 6 too. Students will practise terminology such as ‘fortnight’, ‘day before yesterday’, ‘a week on Tuesday’ etc and be encouraged to count on and back in sevens for full weeks. If they are to move forwards or back 8/15/20 days etc, they can learn to move to the nearest exact week then move back or forwards a day as appropriate, rather than counting days one at a time. **UK date formats used. **
Please check the preview to assess suitability. The resources are in PDF within a Zip file. The Question Cards are also included in a Word document to be easily editable so that you can amend them if required, perhaps adding in details relevant to the school / country in which you are teaching.
The game board is in 3 sections and is comprised of 3 months of the calendar (May, June and July). Children use the instructions printed on the cards and boards to navigate forwards and backwards in time, until someone reaches the end of July! A rule card is included for the children to refer to. This could be used with groups across the whole class or perhaps just for a group that needs lots of consolidation of calendar work, to add some variety to their learning programme. The boards were designed in A3 and they work really well at this size if being used with a larger group. If you can only print in A4, you might want to scale it up on the copier after printing. However, A4 works fine too. You might need to use the ‘shrink to fit’ setting on your printer if printing in A4.

Fun Upper Primary Maths games and activities for Key Stage 2 (KS2) Year 5 and 6 - or Primary 6 and 7 in Scotland. Factors and Multiples starters, warm ups, early finishers tasks, revision etc. A differentiated set of over 70 cards to be used for self-checking factors work or for fun games, plus 6 game boards and 36 cards for multiples bingo / lotto.
FACTORS:
Lower ability file features numbers up to 100. Higher ability file includes many more challenging numbers, up to 16,000. The cards are designed to be printed double-sided with the answers (all factors of the number) on the back. Once you have printed the front side, pop your paper or card back in the printer and print the answers.
This works especially well as an early finisher activity. Pupil Instruction Card is included for ‘Factors Frenzy’ game, where children compete to find as many factors of a number as they can. It could get quite competitive!
MULTIPLES:
6 bingo boards, each featuring 6 numbers between 2 and 12. Print and laminate these as well as the 36 number cards (which each feature four numbers). When picking up a card, players must decide if the four numbers on their card are ALL multiples of a single number on their board. If so, they can place it over that number. If not, they put it back. There’s tactical thinking in this game as some children will realise that all multiples of i.e. 12 are also multiples of 6, 4, 3, 2 - so they will need to prioritise covering the numbers for which there are fewer cards. A couple of cards will not be able to be placed on anyone’s board as there is no common multiple. As usual, the first to cover all numbers is the winner. A Pupil Instruction Card is included for this game too. It comes in both colour and black and white.

A fun, strategic activity for consolidating this key money / shopping skill. A total of 16 boards.
All four packs (One pound, five pounds, ten pounds, twenty pounds) include:
2 standard game boards (featuring different items and prices from each other)
2 lower ability game boards (same boards as above but with mostly less challenging calculations)
Answer grids for all 4 boards for at-a-glance checking by pupils or teacher
Intended to be laminated and used again and again. Children can work as pairs against pairs or one against one to get four correct answers in a row - horizontally, vertically or diagonally. It works especially well if they roll a dice each time to find which column they have to pick a calculation from (columns numbered 1-6). If there are no questions left in a particular column, they could skip a go or roll again. Pupils use a different coloured whiteboard pen to record answers on the board or add an initial or symbol if both players / teams are using the same colour. I recommend printing in A3 but it works fine in A4. The LA versions have a star next to the title but could perhaps be printed on different coloured card or paper if required.
LOOP GAME / FOLLOW ME CARDS / DOMINOES
Four 20-card sets (£1, £5, £10, £20) that can start with any card. A child reads the ‘I spend’ part first with others working out whether they have the relevant ‘I give you’. Use as a game for groups or perhaps as a whole class / whole group starter or plenary (in pairs if necessary). LA pupils could be given less challenging cards so they can still experience success.

Use for Key Stage 2 (KS2) maths lessons, especially Year 4, 5 and 6 (Y4 / Y5 / Y6). Great for starters, early finishers activities, revision tasks etc. Could be used by groups, perhaps racing against each other, or as a dominoes game by individuals or pairs. The lower ability version focuses on smaller two-digit numbers and multiples of 10, the middle ability version extends to larger two-digit numbers and the higher ability version includes some 3-digit numbers. Questions include ‘Double’, ‘Halve’, ‘x2’, ‘÷2’, with the higher ability version also including “50% of”. The higher ability version also includes halving some odd numbers to make a decimal number. Starting at the top illustration and working their way around the card in a spiral, children write the answer to each calculation in the box, creating a running total as they go. The final answer is printed at the end of the trail, beside the illustration in the middle of the card, so they can see if they have correctly completed it. If not, children can check their work to see where they have gone wrong.

Key Stage 2 (KS2) Literacy / SPaG revision activities to use when recapping the basics of what makes a sentence to help students work out where to put full stops and capital letters. This grammar and punctuation (SPaG) activity provides revision of punctuating sentences with full stops and capital letters for Year 4, 5 and 6 (Y4, Y5 and Y6). There are 40 differentiated full stops and capital letters self-check sentences cards for independent or paired work. PDF format in a Zip file.

NO PRINT OPTION: Why not display cards on the board as a regular whole class activity? Students could write the first word of each identified sentence on a whiteboard.
Front sides have a short, engaging paragraph with no full stops and capital letters. If cards are laminated, students could mark them on. They could also write text out if you wish, before self-marking.
Students must start proper nouns with capitals, though as the focus is sentence demarcation, I have kept these to a minimum.
Small number of commas also missing. These have been added to answer sides but not in red as they are not the focus.
Dyslexia-friendly font and spacing used, together with pastel background

Upper Key Stage 2 (KS2) Year 5 / 6 printable activity for classifying angles (identifying angle types), turns, 8-point compass, missing angles etc. A game board and 80 question cards (differentiated at two levels) to add variety and fun to angles work in Upper Primary Y5 and Y6 (or Second Level Primary 6 and 7 in Scotland). It could suit other ages for differentiation and revision. It mixes up different aspects of the topic in a fun self-checking learner-directed activity, allowing the teacher to work with other groups. There are additional challenges for the children to complete as they move around the board. All in a 15-page PDF file.
Differentiation: There’s a more challenging Green version, while the Blue one is for younger or less able learners. A different set of question cards is provided for each game.
In the Green version, questions 1-20 focus on identifying angle types / names (acute, right, straight, obtuse, reflex) and 21-40 involve turns and the 8-point compass. Questions 40-50 deal with working out missing angle sizes on a straight line, vertically opposite angles, angles around a point etc. It should be simple for you to weed out any questions that have not yet been covered. In the Blue version, questions 1-20 focus on less challenging questions about identifying angles and 21-30 bring in turns and the 8-point compass.
I used different coloured card for additional sets so they didn’t get muddled, and laminated them. I recommend blowing up game boards to A3 for use with bigger groups.

An engaging alternative to standard worksheets, these no-prep measurement puzzles make ideal starter, early finisher, revision or homework activities. They can be completed individually or in pairs / groups. They are similar to codebreaker puzzles, with a maths-related word to be revealed after converting, ordering, adding or subtracting the measurement. Each puzzle contains a grid. Pupils circle any boxes containing errors, then put together the letters from these boxes to reveal a maths word.
Pupils often forget or avoid checking their own work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves.
The range of puzzles in this resource is ideal for differentiation and / or to cater for a range of groups and classes across Key Stage 2 (KS2) and some early KS3. Hopefully they'll be helpful for your teaching over many years.

This is a Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 Key Stage 2 (KS2) - Y4 / Y5 / Y6. Maths activity for multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000: an engaging, differentiated set of 20 printable spooky gameboards for starters, early finishers activities, revision etc. It’s an aspect of maths that students often forget but after they’ve played a few games of Crazy Doors, with its attractive board and the scenario of being chased by trolls through a swampy forest, it’ll hopefully stick in their mind! Versions with no backgrounds have been included for eco-printing. Great for Halloween - or at any time of the year (as it doesn’t mention Halloween on it). There’s a multiplication and division by 10, 100 and 1000 version and one for lower ability or younger pupils for multiplying and dividing by just 10 and 100. 10 game boards are included for each (it’s the same layout for each board but with different numbers on the doors).
Each group of 2-6ish players requires a game board, a Doors Targets board (2 included, one for each version), an instruction card (included), dice, counters and mini whiteboards (or paper) and pens. They throw the dice to make a 2-digit starting number and the aim of the game is to change that number by multiplying/dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 to meet the requirements printed on doors in the forest. If they meet the requirements, they may go through the door. They have to throw a counter onto the Doors Target board to find out what they will be multiplying/dividing by - they’ll need to think about the best one to aim at and then also hope their throwing is accurate or they could get held up at a particular door for a while!
This fun activity should also consolidate understanding of place value, including decimals. I’ve added a place value grid for convenience in case any students require this support.

Fun times tables revision activities! Speed up students’ mental recall with these easy-to-prepare, printable, well-differentiated times tables facts board games. Use as starter activities / warm ups in Key Stage 2 (especially Year 4, 5 and 6 - Y4 / Y5 / Y6) Maths lessons, or early finisher activities, morning starters, or as part of a multiplication unit. There are 24 pages of boards (multiple versions of the same boards for differentiation and eco-printing), together with full instructions for the teacher. Simply choose the pages you want to print and laminate for children to play using dry-wipe / whiteboard pens. In Scotland, use for Second Level Maths, Primary 5, 6 and 7.
CONTENTS:
Boards 1-4 feature 2 to 9 times tables calculations
Boards 5-8 are versions of the first four boards with some 11 and 12 times table calculations added

**Further differentiation: **All 2-9 times table versions come in a differentiated format too, with sidebars added, featuring all answers listed in numerical order. This works really well with lower ability or younger pupils who require a little more support. They can score through the number they have used each time.
The boards were originally designed to be printed in A3 size so you may need to quickly adjust your printer settings to print in A4, which works fine too.
INSTRUCTIONS: Two children (or two pairs of children) take it in turns to write an answer over a times table question on the board. Ideally they use a different colour whiteboard pen, however if this is not possible they could add an initial or symbol each time too. First to get 4 in a row - vertically, horizontally or diagonally - is the winner. The times tables questions are designed to print in faintish grey (on the black and white versions) or white (on the colour versions) so as not to get in the way of the children’s answers. It works especially well if pupils roll a dice to determine which column they should answer a question from. The columns are numbered 1-6. If the column is already completed, they could either miss a go or roll again.
