Thank you everyone for your continued support on my Instagram page. I've really enjoyed making resources of my own and putting my own spin on others' resources in the lead up to my NQT year. As a thank you, all of my resources are currently free to download and are editable for you to adjust them, if you wish. Thank you!

Synonym Cards

These synonym cards would be brilliant to support children to use adventurous vocabulary in lessons. These can be enlarged and displayed or attached to split rings for children to access on their tables. Look out for a blank template which can be laminated and used during lesson starters, by encouraging children to think of their own synonyms for a given word.

Punctuation Cards

This resource is very popular on Instagram and are perfect for a SPaG or English display. The characters should add an element of fun to these punctuation cards. Please note: Images are from Google Images.

Purple Polishing Pencils (Editing Pencils)

These editing pencils will encourage children in all year groups to check and edit their work, prior to claiming that they are finished. These pencils are targeted to KS2; however, they can be adapted for KS1. My school encourages children to use purple polishing pens when editing their work; therefore, I incorporated this into an alliterative name for my editing pencils. I’ve also included a checklist tick box for my children to tick off each element as they edit their work.

English Lettering (Children's Books Illustrators)

This lettering was designed following inspiration behind different illustrators’ styles in children’s books. The letters are A4-sized, perfect for an English display. Look out for a Literacy version of this lettering soon, if this is preferred!

Structural and Language Features of Writing Checklists Pencils

(1)
I’ve designed these pencils to outline the structural features of different types of writing and their corresponding language features. The orange pencils indicate structural features of a specific type of writing, such as: a Chronological Report, a Diary Entry and a Newspaper Report to name a few. Whilst the blue pencils indicate the language features. These can be enlarged to A3 size to be displayed or attached with split rings to form a pack for children on their tables. Please note: These are an updated version from the image.
