A coastal fieldwork booklet developed specifically for the new AQA GCSE Geography specification. The booklet provides support for students in planning and gathering data for coastal fieldwork. It is primarily designed for coastal fieldwork at Withernsea, however, it can be easily developed to cover other locations.

An understanding of assessment objectives in geography enables students to understand how they will be assessed in the GCSE course they are studying. We’ve developed a set of resources that will help learners understand the expectation of the assessment objectives and the command words associated with them. The document can be used as a stand-alone presentation, printed for displays, shared with students and copied into existing presentations to help discuss which AOs are being addressed in practice exam questions. The presentation is available in both PowerPoint and Keynote format.

A decision-making exercise (DME) based on the proposed extension of coastal defences at Withernsea on the Holderness Coast. The decision-making exercise has been developed to support teachers and students preparing for the AQA GCSE Geography paper 3 exam. The resources can be used to support delivering the AQA Geography Coastal Environments unit as well as preparing students for completing the DME element of paper 3. The DME can also be used in key stage 3 to help students prepare for GCSE style assessment. The download pack contains a resource booklet containing information relating to the proposed extension to the coastal defences at Withernsea, Holderness Coast, including a licensed OS map extract of the area and amazing aerial photographs of the affected area, an AQA paper 3 style exam and a detailed mark scheme.
