GCSE Chemistry - Crude oil and hydrocarbons (Foundation / SEN)

(1)
These 5 worksheets were developed for low ability / SEN students to understand crude oil formation and hydrocarbons. There are story boards (formation of crude oil), and easy worksheets with "fill in the gaps" . These worked brilliantly with my low ability BTec group, but I also used them as starters and plenarys for my Foundation GCSE Chemistry group. Fun and easy to follow and complete. Many thanks for looking at my resources. Please leave feedback or follow me if you like them

This 14 slide ppt covers the AQA chemistry syllabus on metal ores and their extraction. The slides cover ores, reduction, electrolysis, copper, aluminium, blast furnace, displacement reactions, environment problems, recyclying, phytomining and bioleaching W/sheet to help consolidate the information in the ppts, based on the theory and a w/sheet which could be used as a paired activity, starter, plenary or homework. Also, good for revision before an exam.
AQA Trilogy Quantitative Chemistry

AQA Trilogy Quantitative Chemistry

(0)
Covers the AQA Chemistry (Trilogy) specification for Quantitative chemistry. Concentrates on calculations. It includes practice slides throughout the presentation so that the students can practice each calculation as you go through each type. Covers: Ar / Mr / RFM / % mass of an element or compound / Number of moles / Conservation of mass and why the mass actually changes during some reactions / thermal decomposition / how to use moles to calculate mass / how to calculate Empirical formula / limiting reactions and how to calculate concentrations of solutions. After completing the presentation and trial questions there is a revision sheet. For higher groups I actually removed the examples and got them to make the revision card. For those struggling I gave the revision sheet as it is.
GCSE Chemistry (SEN/Foundation) Crude oil, alkanes, frac. dist, alkenes, polymerisation - 5 w/sheets

GCSE Chemistry (SEN/Foundation) Crude oil, alkanes, frac. dist, alkenes, polymerisation - 5 w/sheets

These resources are specifically designed for SEN/Foundation students studying GCSE Chemistry (OCR/AQA). They cover formation of crude oil, hydrocarbons, alkanes, fractional distillation, alkenes and polymerisation. They are done in story boards, fill in the gaps, but on sheets which can be used as starters, plenaries, home works, revision, or as a class activity working in twos. The language is easy to access and tells the story of crude oil to products simply and in a way students can understand. Covers all the main key points in a way a low ability student can access.

GCSE Foundation / BTEC / SEN) - 3 ppts, practicals, tasks (atomic structure, alkali metals, exo & en

These 3 ppts covering atomic structure, alkali metals, end and exothermic reactions, which can be used with a good KS3 class or with a GCSE Chemistry BTEC/ SEN or Foundation chemistry group. PPT 1 covers atomic structure, atoms, neutrons, protons, electrons, atomic number, periodic table, and isotopes. There are tasks for students as you go through the ppt. PPT2 covers Group 1 - alkali metals. It covers the group features, and how they react with water, etc There are tasks for the students as you go through the ppt, or you can print the slides to use in class. PPT3 covers exothermic and endothermic reactions. - covers the main key points, a practical for the students to attempt, work sheets to help them draw conclusions from the practical, activation energy and catalysts. These ppts are designed for KS3 students who have never seen these key ideas before or for lower ability GCSE / BTEC / SEN students who need bold key points and easy to follow instructions and plenaries.

The power point is a colourful, easy to follow explanation of the rock cycle. Suitable for KS3 and GCSE (SEN) students. These sheets were made specifically for my KS3 students but have worked really well with SEN and GCSE Foundation students. They are colourful, easy to read and easy to fill in. All can be used as starters, plenaries, home works or even as a class test.

GCSE Chemistry(Foundation/SEN): Perfumes,l, states of matter, solubility, insoluble (9 sheets)

These sheets cover what perfumes are, and how to make a perfume. Students have to fill in the gaps and next to diagrams of the practical write down what they did. It then includes a sheet where they have to write down the chemistry of smell. Next sheet is a good states of matter sheet with fill in the gaps and students have to draw the diagrams. The final sheets cover solubility (solute, solvent, etc) , includes a solubility practical and a final conclusion. Fill in boxes for the definitions of all of the key terms. Thank you for looking at many resource, if you like it please leave feedback.

KS3 Chemistry / GCSE SEN/Foundation) - The Burning Triangle Worksheet & Test

(2)
This resource contains 2 popular sheets I use with my KS3 students to teach them about the "Burning triangle". The second sheet can be used as a homework, extension, revision or as a class test. I also used it with my SEN class and GCSE Foundation students who found they could access the material because it is colourful, easy to read, and some fill in the gaps gives differentiation.
