This is an investigation into the race position of formula 1 drivers. I have used this on interview lessons with great success. The lesson revolves around substitution into a set of instructions. Then investigating why it doesn't matter where you start from you always get the same finishing line up. Ultimately the top end students will be able to show algebraic proofs to prove it all works, while the lower students will get practice with substitution.
