This lesson looks at the nature and importance of the Mitzvot and the relationship between the Mitzvot and Free-will. Main task is a rotation task. Students use the relevant information to fill in the boxes on their worksheet.

The Fall of Adam and Eve - Genesis
A lesson that I use with year 7 as part of my Genesis Scheme of Work. The aim is to get students thinking about the keywords - sin, crime and free will. Understand the term first sin/original sin and the repercussions of the first sin for humanity. Although I use this with year 7, this could be used up to GCSE level with little adaptation.
Included - PPT to guide you through the lesson, templates for tasks (Questions), drawing activity task and quiz style plenary.

Although I use this with year 7, this could be used up to GCSE level with little adaptation.

The Covenant with Abraham - Genesis
A lesson that I use with year 7 as part of my Genesis Scheme of Work. The lesson starts with a recap from the previous lesson (Noah’s Ark) but the main aim of the lesson is to get students familiar with Abraham and his covenant with God. Students should be able to define a covenant and be able to give details of the promises made on both sides. Although I use this with year 7, this could be used up to GCSE level with little adaptation.

This is linked at the start of the lesson to original sin. Although I use this with year 7, this could be used up to GCSE level with little adaptation.

Get students to think about the difference between a literal truth and a metaphorical truth. Then we look at how different groups of Christians (Liberal, Conservative and Catholic) and how they interpret the Bible and Genesis 1. Although I use this with year 7, this could be used up to GCSE level with little adaptation.
