Two lesson powerpoints with accompanying starters, activity and differentiated worksheet Used during Yr 4 unit on decimals. Plans adapted as children struggled ordering decimals. Powerpoint day 1 - looks at place value and dividing by 10 and 100. Powerpoint day 2 - explains decimal size and looks at ordering them. Two possible starter activities Differentiated worksheets - 3 different levels. Possible interactive starter: On whiteboards before lesson write a range of decimals. When children come in they have to get into size order without talking to each other!

Mixed numbers & improper fractions pack!

Two powerpoints and two worksheets based on mixed numbers and improper fractions. Worked well in Year 4! Low and mid ability worksheets included. My HA moved onto simplifying fractions quite quickly and I used mastery challenge questions throughout the two sessions. Powerpoints recap what a fraction is, what they look like and introduce improper fractions and mixed numbers. The two lessons seperate the steps to converting between them and introduce the MAD acronym. Used this alongside starters of ordering fractions silently from smallest to largest and throwing in a few mixed numbers to challenge them!

FUN 2-12 TIMES TABLE ACTIVITY!

**Ideal resource for any age between KS1 – KS2. ** Hands on, useful resource for teaching children different times tables. Simply print out and cut out! Either give the children pegs, post it notes or anything sticky with a range of numbers on and they must match the times table question to the right answer. Really useful for 1-1 or small group interventions but could also be used in whole class sessions as either a starter, each table has a different times table circle (differentiation opportunity) or as a whole class ‘treasure hunt’ making it a bit more of a competition. Worked amazingly during my 1-1 sessions with a SEND child and I’m sure it’ll come in handy again.
