Side-by-side Calculations - Acceleration

This worksheet models how to set out working for calculations on acceleration in GCSE Physics and combined science. Students follow the examples side-by-side and then have a go at the five practice questions.
Memorise Equations for GCSE Physics

Memorise Equations for GCSE Physics

(2)
This book is intended to help memorise the equations for AQA, Edexcel, OCR A&B and Eduqas GCSE Physics and combined science. The best way to memorise them is to use them! For each page there are three questions, the first is using the equation as it is, the second is a rearrangement, third is another rearrangement with at least one unit conversion. Send the students the PDF to keep on their phone as a flip book! Use the word document to remove equations for other exam boards if you like, or just send the equations for combined science to combined science students! I deliberately haven’t given the working for each question, just the answer, so that you can think through the problem and then check you’ve done the working correctly. I’ve deliberately left the maths simple enough to do in your head so that you can quickly work through the problems, hopefully that equation will eventually seep into that permanent area of your brain where all your song lyrics and film quotes are kept! Use this book instead of flash cards! So don’t just go through it once and then leave it! It’s meant to be flipped through time and time again until you know the equations and their units by heart!

GCSE Physics Equations for display on your classroom wall. Specifically for OCR Gateway 9-1.

GCSE Physics Equations for display on your classroom wall. Specifically for OCR Gateway 9-1. These are useful for all syllabuses of Physics, you may want to adapt slightly, add anything for your spec or take anything away. I'm displaying the equations as the kids are going to have to remember many of them for the new specifications. I hope that with visual memory kids will be able to remember the equations a little easier. These could be easily adapted into flashcards or other revision resources.

Prepare for the Challenge of A Level Physics - Summer Project CGSE to A Level

(0)
Get a head start to A Level Physics! Three experiments that you can do at home to help you bridge the gap between GCSE and A Level Physics! This is designed to set your new A Level class as a project over the summer holidays to help them bridge the gap between GCSE and A Level. A Level Physics is one of the greatest academic challenges that there is, but you can succeed in it if, like anything else, you prepare well for it. These three experiments introduce you to some of the key ideas and techniques that you will need to be a success at A Level Physics. It is designed to be used over the summer between your GCSE exams and starting the A Level course, but could be completed at any time. Each experiment has an introduction, some video guidance, a method and instructions to analyse the results. There are then some questions to get you thinking about the topic and the answers so you can check that thinking. This would also be a useful study for anyone currently taking A Level Physics, or a similar level Physics qualification, or anyone aiming for one of the top grades in their GCSE Physics.

Matter, Particle Model and Gas Pressure Test (OCR Gateway P1, but also for other exam boards)

Matter, Particle Model and Gas Pressure Test (OCR Gateway P1, but also for other exam boards) This is a roughly 40 mark test, including 10 multiple choice. Written by myself, with a full markscheme. It is a pretty tricky test in places but I think it accurately represents the level of challenge in the new GCSEs. I think this is a perfect first test for your students to get up to speed with the new types of questions that they will be asked, including the higher maths challenge and the higher order analytical, and evaluative skills.
