PRIMARY FRENCH KS2 FRENCH KS3 FRENCH NUMBERS 0-31 I HAVE WHO HAS? The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your classroom in any way. It is free to download, but Terms of Use still apply - please read them carefully. This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in French. The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. The aim of the game is to create a French number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card zéro, and ending with the final card, trente et un. The game works just as well if the number sequence is placed on the floor, a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the game for my young beginner learners, but I’ve also played the game with my adult learners, who really enjoy it too - the monster theme is popular with everyone! The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for beginner language learners who are starting to familiarize themselves with the written word. Try to print in color if you can - it adds to the visual appeal of the game, which is a real motivator for learning. Download, print out, laminate, cut out & shuffle the cards. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little bit harder on their concentration and pronunciation. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best French accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. The game works best played against a timer, regularly over a longer-term series of lessons - can students beat beat their own time record? I always do some high-speed counting warm-up activities, forwards & backwards, to get everyone ready to play! Have a browse in my store for more French numbers activities, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning materials, with French resource boxes, special offer bundles, and lots of freebies. FRENCH ÊTRE & AVOIR WORD SEARCHES

(3)
PRIMARY FRENCH KSS FRENCH KS3 FRENCH WORD SEARCHES - DIFFERENTIATED WITH ANSWER KEYS - PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING LANGUAGE SKILLS AS WELL AS INTRODUCING AND PRACTISING VERB CONJUGATION IN FRENCH I use word searches a lot in my languages classroom - they're ideal for encouraging students to engage with the written word in French, and for building vocab. I differentiate the grids, so that there is plenty of increasing challenge, that I give students time to work through - this way I can be sure that all my students are motivated to progress. These word searches I've found really useful when introducing the concept of verb conjugation in French - we do lots of comparison with English, and discuss both similarities and differences - this helps students think about patterns and how languages work in general. There are 5 French-French grids, and 5 English-French grids - this gets students applying French a little differently. There's additional consolidation too, as I've put a verb list in each grid that students have to complete. I always give answer keys - for me, that's an essential part of the learning - they give students an extra opportunity to engage with language, and they really enjoy checking their own and each others' work. For my beginning French learners, I tend to use landscape format, and with a single grid per page. I've found this is the best way as students begin to familiarize themselves with the new language. We use the word searches as starters, refreshers, plenaries or fun-time fillers at any time during the school year, as well as when we're working on the verbs themselves. Try this word search sampler, it's free to download, and you'll be able to see whether the word searches will work well with your learners: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/primary-french-fruits-word-searches-freebie-12349143 There files are non-editable in a zipped format; the product is copyright, all rights reserved - the license for purchase is a single-user license only - please read the Terms of Use carefully. FRENCH VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER

(3)
GCSE FRENCH CONJUGATION PRACTICE SAMPLER I’ve created a lot of quick conjugation workbooks for my students and they’re really popular and effective. They’re a great way of practising, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate all the various verb groups and tenses in French. I use them in a range of learning contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. Students really benefit from several opportunities to work through the workbook, once or twice a term across a whole school year is a great way of both mapping progress and developing overall understanding and competence. The workbooks focus on specific sets of 25 high-frequency verbs in a range of tenses. They include modals, regular, irregular & mixed and reflexive verbs. Each workbook is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French : English and English : French Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in French, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding French verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps sheet, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of French conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. 6-page answer key booklet In this sampler: high-frequency verbs list: French-English -IR & -OIR verbs list: English-French regular -ER verbs present tense conjugation: Challenge 1 with answer key regular & irregular -RE verbs perfect tense conjugation: Challenge 2 with answer key regular & irregular -IR & -OIR verbs: imperfect tense conjugation: Challenge 3 with answer key regular & irregular high-frequency verbs simple future tense conjugation: Challenge 1 with answer key regular -ER verbs conditional tense conjugation: Challenge 2 with answer key regular & irregular -RE verbs future perfect tense conjugation: Challenge 3 with answer key Files are non-editable in a zipped format. GERMAN SEPARABLE VERBS IMPERFECT TENSE

(3)
GCSE GERMAN KS3 GERMAN KS4 GERMAN IMPERFECT TENSE CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 high-frequency German separable verbs in the imperfect tense, 3 differentiated conjugation challenges, 150 quick conjugations, answer key and verb lists ideal for advanced KS3 German and KS4 German students who are developing their knowledge and understanding of conjugation in German, and working with notion of past tense in German. I do tend to introduce the perfect tense and imperfect tense fairly closely together, as usage of the tenses is not directly equivalent with English for example, particularly in spoken German, and it’s really useful to be able to compare and contrast tenses. The focus is on common separable prefixes such as ab, an, aus, ein, um and zu. Prefixes such as***entlang and entgegen*** are not included in this particular collection of verbs. The resource has the following structure: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in German. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding German verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps sheet, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of German conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. Students also note down any new verbs they discover, which enables them to build up a really sound verb vocabulary bank. answer key Try this free sampler to see whether this kind of activity would work well for your students: GERMAN CONJUGATION PRACTICE FREE SAMPLER https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-conjugation-practice-sampler-12154187 Have a browse in my store for more German grammar activities, and a wide range of other German teaching and learning resources, with special offer bundles and lots of freebies too! ITALIAN REFLEXIVE VERBS LIST FREEBIE #1

(3)
GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN REFLEXIVE VERBS LIST I give my language learners of all grades and learning phases a whole series of reference lists, that build up into a really comprehensive Italian vocabulary reference bank over the course of their language learning programme. They’re really popular with my students, as they know they can just go to their reference file or folder, and find what they need. They tell me that they feel far more confident about their Italian when they have a good grasp of core high-frequency Italian vocabulary. They’re great for quick Italian vocabulary quizzes too. There are of 25 high-frequency Italian reflexive verbs in the infinitive form, alphabetically both Italian-English and English-Italian - my students get these pretty much at the beginning of their program, even before we start to work on conjugation. If my group is small, and depending on the particular work we’re doing, I provide students with a set of double-sided and laminated reference resources. My language students all have a reference file or folder, again from the beginning of their learning, and part of helping them develop independence in, and responsibility for, their learning, is to give them opportunity to keep their learning resources in good order, and easily accessible. There are two backgrounds to choose from - Italian flag, which I tend to use for vocabulary display, and black wave. I use a background for vocab lists, as feedback from learners over the years suggests that a visual can be helpful when learning what can be a large amount of new Italian vocabulary. Have a browse in my store for more Italian vocabulary lists, and a wide range of other Italian teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too! PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH NUMBERS 0-31 Tengo ¿Quién tiene? This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to count from 0 - 31 in Spanish. The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. The aim of the game is to create a Spanish number chain as quickly as possible, starting with the first card cero, and ending with the final card, treinta y uno. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I often play too - students really do enjoy it when I join in, and they seem to work that little bit harder on their concentration, reading out loud and pronunciation. Students walk around the room, talking to each other in their best Spanish accent, sharing the information on their cards, until they have arranged the numbers in the correct order. GCSE FRENCH IDIOMS French Speaking Practice Encouraging students to speak can be quite challenging in the languages classroom, and I’ve found that even my more advanced learners can be quite reluctant, especially if the group is fairly large. I use a range of strategies to promote speaking, and idioms, proverbs and fun expressions which sound quite strange when translated literally are really popular - for example, we have regular competitions to see who can get the most idioms or expressions into dialogues and conversations. This works really well for students of all stages and ages. The posters show the literal translation, which generally sounds very odd, such as this particular idiom C’est pas tes oignons ! - It it not your onions! and the correct corresponding translation. We also discuss other possible translations into English, which helps them understand the concept of translation, and that there are potentially many correct ways of expressing meaning accurately. The posters also lend the learning environment a real French ambiance, promoting the everyday use of French. There are two backgrounds - the French flag looks great, but definitely uses a lot of ink, so you may prefer the poster without a background - this looks just as good! Keep checking back for more posters if you like them, as I have a huge collection! Keep checking back for more posters if you like them, as I have a huge collection! Have a browse in my store for more French classroom displays, and a wide range of other French teaching and learning activities, with special offer bundles, resource boxes, and lots of freebies too!
