This is a ‘Dream House’-themed, distance learning project that will be used whilst the children are off school. This resource spreads across 4 tasks (these could be set weekly or daily) which last for an hour each. The activities see children wining the lottery and buying their dream house- they’ll need to:
Write the advertisement for their property that they saw in the paper
Write a moving setting description of their new home
Design the colour pallette, their bedroom rug and bed sheets
Buy furniture for their home by sticking to a strict budget
Draw a floor plan for their new property

Week 5 of 12- An exploration of daily life as an Egyptian slave, a merchant and a nobleman in the ancient Egyptian civilization. Children will create a daily schedule and engage in drama activities to immerse in the topic.
This product contains an 24-slide Teaching PowerPoint and 4 main tasks that can be printed or completed digitally via PDF copies. The PPT guides students through learning the key details about daily life as 3 different sects of society: Slaves, merchants and nobles. The first task sees children reading and understanding definitions of topical vocabulary, then matching them up to the words using the worksheets included in this pack. Task 2 sees children research the daily life using the QR codes, videos and slides provided. Task 3 involves using Talk for Learning to discuss what they found, and Task 4 is a drama activity to explore how these different sects may have interacted with each other. Writing prompt/stimulus based on retelling the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Teaching PowerPoint and 4-way differentiated planning sheets included in this 29-Page pack.
This can be delivered to a single class, year group or whole-school cohort, or even as an extra-curricular Creative Writing club task!
Assessing writing is a subjective nightmare! With this independent writing assessment stimulus, children can engage in an exciting writing task centred around retelling the story of Red Riding Hood, with older year groups synthesizing the story by adding their own endings. As teachers, we can decide which planning sheet most accurately matches the children’s abilities or targets, and the writing they produce can be assessed against national or state standards.

A class assembly for Key Stage 2 on Victorian schools, the uniforms, the lesson format and the punishments.
This class assembly lasts for 15 minutes and includes 16 roles that range from having a single line up to having ~6. In the pack, you will receive the PDF copy and an editable Word Document format. In order to edit this document and maintain the formatting, you must install the two fonts also included in this download.
The props required are also listed, as well as there being a section for you to allocate roles on the front page.

Week 3 of 6- A no-prep lesson that explores sketching and shading techniques whilst drawing natural objects from observation. Children in grades 1-3 will learn to critique peer’s artwork kindly and use high-level artistic vocabulary to describe their own work. A perfect art unit for Autumn, Spring or Summer!
This product contains a 16-slide Teaching PowerPoint that guides students through developing a sketching technique whilst looking at the definitions of topical vocabulary such as line, shape, texture, pattern, tone and sketch. Using the worksheet provided, children are encouraged to draw natural objects such as leaves or flowers with sketching pencils, using the ‘tickle the spider’ technique explained on the slides. Examples of what work may look like are included.
This activity can be conducted as a class, or in smaller wellbeing groups to work on mindfulness or calming SEN children during the chaos of the school day. The focus is on gaining digital literacy skills, such as photo editing, uploading and downloading images from Google, cutting out images from their backgrounds and arranging them aesthetically.
This lesson is likely to take 1.5-2 hours, and requires the use of natural objects obtained on a nature walk (either in a previous lesson in this unit or at the start of this one!) If you don’t have access to outdoor space for your students, images from online search engines can be used!

Week 2 of 6- A no-prep lesson that explores photography and digital collages using iPads, and celebrates the use of nature within art. Improves digital literacy and Includes non-digital alternatives. Perfect for teaching in Fall, Summer or Spring with Grades 1-3!
This product contains a 21-slide Teaching PowerPoint that guides students through learning the basics of photography and different shots that artists use. Children are encouraged to be out in nature, taking photos using these different shots ready for those images to be edited and manipulated when back in class. The Teaching PowerPoints guides children through the use of PicCollage (a free app) to create digital collages.
This activity can be conducted as a class, or in smaller wellbeing groups to work on mindfulness or calming SEN children during the chaos of the school day. The focus is on gaining digital literacy skills, such as photo editing, uploading and downloading images from Google, cutting out images from their backgrounds and arranging them aesthetically.
This lesson is likely to take 1.5-2 hours, involving a short stop outside to take some photos that could be as short or as long as you like! If you don’t have access to outdoor space for your students, images from online search engines could be used!

Week 5 of 6- A no-prep lesson that explores watercolour, the work of Paul Klee and the art of Hirameki- a Japanese doodle art! Children in years 1-3 will learn how to create a watercolor wash, emulate the work of famous artists and conduct research using internet search engines.
This product contains a 26-slide Teaching PowerPoint that guides students through previous weeks’ learning (colour theory, critiquing peers’ work, photography basics) and develops their understanding of watercolours by looking at the work of Paul Klee and the Japanese art form of Hirameki. Sometimes, the way children present their research findings in art isn’t up to scratch with their practical work. This resource gives children the opportunity to show their findings neatly (with sentence starters, word banks and prompts to help guide their writing) and give opinions on the artists’ work.
This resource is re-usable as it’s not artist-specific and gender-neutral pronouns are used. The second version of the artist research page is scaffolded for lower-ability writers.

The Thursday's lesson is pretty intense- it involves a geocaching type event, with the class hunting around the playground using their own map of the playground that they have gridded up.
Only thing you'd need to do is provide a map of your playground, or even classroom.
