Tour de France 2018

Tour de France 2018 an updated version of my previous presentation. Includes 2018 details about the tour, explanation of the stages, jerseys, fans, links to videos of the tour and the official TDF website, type of food the riders eat and fitness regime. There is also 20 questions with answers based on the information in the presentation, a set of key words, and a list of suggestions for follow up tasks. These resources can be for one lesson or, if you choose to exploit it further, could be a series of lessons. Great for teaching a cultural and geographic aspects of France and it’s an event you and your class can follow on television. I hope you enjoy teaching your classes about the Tour de France as much as I do.

The questions and the support phrases are in both French and English, you could leave this as cover work or give as homework or revision in preparation for the written or the spoken exam. You can also use the slides for promoting discussion, there are notes on the slides linking the celebrations to Christianity. Tour de France 2017 is a PowerPoint presentation with information about this year's Tour. A set of 20 questions on it,with answers, a set of Key words with meanings and extra video links with further information surrounding the tour and the places it will go through this year. I have included a list of extra tasks that you can use and develop with your class depending on time, ability and needs. This set of resources can be used with students from year 6 to year 9 or 10, I have used it with all ages and abilities and it is always an engaging topic. The tour starts on the 1st of July, I hope you enjoy it.

La galette

This is a primary French resource that I prepared for a short lesson with a year 4 class. I have included the resources, words and images and the lesson plan and added some extra activities that could be used to extend the lesson. The pupils found it really interesting and you could use it with older junior pupils. It has a cross curricular RE content which you could enlarge on or focus on the French cultural information about "La galette des rois". I hope you and your pupils enjoy it!

This presentation explains the perfect tense with avoir and uses Christmas as a theme to introduce 12 sentences with different verbs. It shows how to link them together to create a paragraph. This can be used with students who have not seen the perfect tense before as an introduction, I have used this with year 7 students at the end of their first year or students with some experience of the perfect tense as a revision lesson.

This resource is designed to practise using modal verbs. The first sheet is a list of pronouns and the part of the modal verb with options to choose infinitives and finally the end of the sentence. The second sheet gives instructions and suggestions for uses. I have found this useful with year 8 students who have already had a lesson on the structure and used this as a revision/consolidation.
