The Big 6 Religions

The Big 6 Religions

(0)
A unit of planning, aimed at Upper Key Stage 2 pupils. Originally taught to year 5 but could be adapted for LKS2. The unit covers a basic overview of the big 6 religions - Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism. Within each religion, the lessons look at the beginnings of the religion or at the creation story, it explores their religious buildings and religious practices as well as looking at religious festivals. The unit ends with the children writing a discussion text over the question ‘Do all religions believe in the same God?’. A great question for a philosophical debate. You could instead end the unit with the children creating a big quiz on the religions (as is added to the end of the slides).
