A collection of assembly and Christmas scripts that I've written over the years! I'm very much an advocate of trying before you buy so all scripts are available as samples for free. Also, check out the children's book that I've written about a chicken who dreams of playing football!

This is a free sample of the full script. Paul Pan is Peter Pans brother. Whilst Peter is away the Evil Captain Spoon captures Wendy! Can Paul, along with his friend Dame Nanna, rescue Wendy and defeat Captain Spoon and his henchmen Smee and Hee? This is a pantomime written with the idea in mind that the staff perform it for the students. This could be at an end of year show or at Christmas when pantomimes are traditionally performed. The script is for 6 persons. No backdrops, scenery or sound effects are required. Props are kept to a minimal (a sword and a fake rolling pin!) And, apart from the Dame’s costume, dressing the characters should be easy! The Dame is traditionally played by a man and requires an over the top dress, make up and a larger than life character. I hope you enjoy the script!

This bundle contains samples of short pantomime scripts that staff can rehearse and perform to students. I was asked by the governors of the school to produce a script for a pantomime that they and staff could perform to the students. They felt that the this was something that the children would enjoy (they loved it!) and it would be something different for them. Rehearsal time was minimal for us due to work load. Scripts were given out a couple of weeks in advance but we only came together on the morning of the performance to read through the lines. We went on stage with the scripts in hand but the children didn’t mind as they just loved that the staff were being silly and entertaining them! I hope you enjoy the scripts and I hope to write more soon!

This is a bundle containing samples of the scripts that I’ve written for students as part of either a Christmas concert or a Year 6 leavers show. The scripts have all been performed by my students and last a maximum of 10 minutes. Props are kept to a minimum and those which are required I normally make myself using images glued on to card. For ease, sound effects I also try to keep to a minimum. Back drops and scenery are not required. I hope you like the scripts that I produce and I will keep writing them as long as I get inspiration and as long as I have a drama group to write for!

Real French - A 10 minute play

(0)
Real French is a play that is was written for eleven students but you can easily double parts up if you had less students. Madam Pantalon is teaching the children their very first French lesson but it turns out she can’t actually speak French! Cue comedy and the butchering of the French language as she continues the lesson despite her lack of knowledge, much to the bemusement of the class. No back drops or scenery is required. Only one prop book and one ringing bell sound effect required.

Misdemeanours in the classroom - A 10 minute pantomime for staff to perform to students

Miss De Meaner (or Mr Meaner if being played by a man!) is the new head teacher at the school. To staff and students she is the perfect head teacher but really she has a master plan to rule the world! Can our brave students Jack and Jill supported by the staff (Miss Place, Miss Take and Dolly Dollop the lunch lady), defeat the evil and save the school? This is an original pantomime script for staff to perform to students. It was written after the school governors decided they wanted to do something special for the students at Christmas although it can be performed at any time. There are six main parts and 3 smaller parts who only have a couple of lines to say. Back drops and scenery are not required and props are kept to a minimum (a small loaf, a white sheet and 3 cloaks.) There are two optional sound effects but these really aren’t required for the plot. When our staff performed the pantomime our rehearsal time was an hours read through in the morning. We took the scripts on stage with us and in all honesty the children didn’t mind one bit! They just loved seeing the staff do something special for them. I hope you enjoy the script as much as our children did!

Save the Talent Show - A pantomime for staff to perform to students

(0)
Mrs Meanie is the evil head teacher who thinks that fun isn’t part of a school life. Will she manage to ruin the school talent show or will our heros Jack and Jill save the day? This was performed by the governors and staff of the school who wished to do something different for the children. As with traditional panto Dolly Dollop is the Dame played by a man and when it was performed the governor had made sprout earrings and really dressed up for the occasion! He hid and wasn’t seen by the children or other staff members until his appearance on stage. Due to lack of rehearsal time (we had a read through for an hour the morning of the performance!) the cast went on with scripts in hand. We felt that this didn’t impact the performance at all, if anything, added to the silliness of it! There are parts of the script which will allow you to use references to local places to add that personal comedic touch! I hope that it gives your students as much enjoyment as ours received from seeing the staff in a different light! There is no scenery, backgrounds or props required (except a clipboard) There are excerpts of some music that you will require (Macarena, YMCA and the Flower Duet) 6 x Speaking roles and as many non-speaking extras as want to take part!

Miss Potts is the teacher whom every year has the job of putting together the Reception class Christmas Nativity. Every year it all goes wrong but will this year be different? The script is written for a cast of 11 children in years 5 or 6. There is no scenery, backdrops or sound effects required and props are minimal. The performance itself will take no more than 10 minutes as has been written as a short Christmas sketch which would fit in to any Christmas concert.

An original comedic play which is a modern take on the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Caroline Scrooge is a grumpy teacher who hates Christmas. After a visit from her old teaching assistant (whom she over worked) She is visited by a fairy (Fairy Nuff) who takes Caroline to see Father Christmas to teach her the true meaning of Christmas. A play with a cast of 10 actors who can be male or female. Props are minimal and can be easily created. There are 3 separate scenes although no scenery is required. The play lasts about 10 minutes and is suitable for ages 11-14. The play would work well for an end of term performance as part of your Christmas celebrations.

An original comedic play which is a modern take on the traditional Christmas story. It’s the old story with a comedic take. Mary and Joseph arrive at the inn to find there is no room but there is a stable in the back cue wise men getting wise men getting lost, shepherds chasing sheep across the desert and angels getting grumpy as their big entrance is ruined! A play with a cast of 9 actors who can be male or female. Props are minimal and can be easily created by gluing a picture on to cardboard and cutting it out. The play includes 3 zombies which have no real lines but “sing and dance” briefly. Props are minimal and can be easily created by gluing a picture on to cardboard and cutting it out.
