Made for AQA Activate 2 - Organisms part 2 (breathing and digestion).

Students are paired and receive either the amoeba or euglena information sheet, then ask eachother questions to fill in their sheet.

Activity on predatory-prey cycles. Students can be given either the scaffolded worksheet or just the graph for them to describe and explain independently. Includes a food web/producers and consumers recap starter. Used with Activate 1 Interdependence and Plant Reproduction with a Y7 group.

Used for Y8 photosynthesis topic with an information hunt, however could be used as laptop research or for homework.

Summary sheet created for the end of a Y7 unit on Cells, but could work as a refresher for up to GCSE level. Students could complete this from memory, using laptops/textbooks, or as a homework task. Differentiated with 1 more structured/scaffolded sheet and 1 more open-ended. Also includes a slide with suggested answers for students to self-mark and correct.

Covers pathogens, barriers to pathogens, preventing the spread of infection, cardiovascular disease and treatment, antibiotics and various examples of communicable diseases. Designed for B2 of OCR 21st Century Science, but could easily be used with other specifications.

'Guess Who' worksheet for Y7 lesson on plant and animal cells. Students identify the organelle from a description of its function. Based on AQA Activate - B1, Cells - 1.2, Plant and Animal Cells (p16 of Activate 1 textbook). You could also ask students to identify which type of cell the organelle is present in, and offer an extension task to write a paragraph explaining the differences between plant and animal cell structure. Students look at various food labels and find out how much protein, fat (including saturates), carbohydrates (including sugars), fibre and minerals are in each product.

Activity used with Y7 class for a lesson on the menstrual cycle - I used this with the information sheets as an information hunt acitivity, but could work with laptops, a video or as a cover work activity with textbooks. Challenge questions to print on the back, differentiated gap-fill version included.

Homework I made for Y7 as a revision of our cells topic. Covers microscopes, plant VS animal cells and specialised plant cell example (root hair cell).

I laminated and cut out the images/names/functions of different organs of the digestive system then asked students to assemble a whole digestive system with correct labels. I used this as a competition by splitting students into 2 teams, with the winners being the first to assemble all the images and labels correctly. I created this according to the AQA Trilogy GCSE specification but you could edit it to use keywords from other specifications e.g. duodenum. You could also use it with AQA Activate 2 (year 8).
