Electricity Revision Summary Sheet (A3) with Answers

(0)
A3 revision summary sheet covering series & parallel circuits, circuit symbols, charge flow equation, potential difference, current and resistance including V= IR, I-V characteristics of ohmic conductor/filament lamp/diode, thermistors and light-dependent resistors.

Atomic Structure Workbook (Revision/Independent Learning/Classroom Use)

(1)
I created this workbook for my students when studying atomic structure (atoms, symbols, electronic structure/configuration, isotopes, relative atomic mass, history of the atom/atomic models, alpha scattering experiment, ions). I have tried to include concise, clear notes for students to refer to, and lots of practice questions. There is a section for students to write down key definitions (most of these are indicated clearly within the text). A revision sheet that goes with the booklet is also included. I hope they are useful for you!
Calculating Relative Atomic Mass - Lesson

Calculating Relative Atomic Mass - Lesson

(0)
Basic lesson on calcluating relative atomic mass (Ar) for AQA GCSE Chemistry/Combined Science Quantitative Chemistry (Calculations) unit. I have not included correcting answers to the right amount of significant figures on slide 8 as I know some people may not want to discuss this yet, you can change them to the correct number of SF if you wish.

History/Models of the Atom Timeline Assembly (Card Sort)

(0)
Students arrange the models of the atom into a timeline and add the statements that describe each model. They can then use this as a scaffold to demonstrate their learning, e.g. by recreating the timeline in their book or writing ‘The Story of the Model of the Atom’. Or they can stick it straight in their books if they have 1 copy each - I laminated because a) I wanted to use the resource again, and b) I wanted my low ability group to draw the timeline themselves to embed the knowledge). Used with a low-ability Y10 group for both atomic structure and radioactivity topics to help them visualise the development of the atom - I played this video to help them (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4Us5PTb4J8), could also be used with the information sheets or as a revision activity. Stretch: blue boxes contain either an evaluation fo the model or information on how it was developed (e.g. cathode ray tube, alpha scattering experiment). These could be omitted and students asked to write this information on post-it notes instead. I have tried to organise the boxes in a way that minimise the time taken to cut out.
Calculating Efficiency - Worksheet with Differentiated Graded Questions & Answer Sheet

Calculating Efficiency - Worksheet with Differentiated Graded Questions & Answer Sheet

(0)
Worksheet questions on calculating efficiency of an appliance. Questions are graded and increase in difficulty (no rearranging/converting, converting units, rearranging equations and converting units, 2-step processes). An answer sheet is included for self-marking/correction. Used with mid-ability Y10 for P2 - Sustainable Energy on OCR 21st Century, but works with most specifications. Some questions at the end combine the power equation with the efficiency equation.
