KS3 - Henry VIII's Problems - 'What do you meme?' - Meme analysis

(1)
This is a starter activity, could be extended or used in another phase of the lesson, I use with Year 8 when analysing Henry VIII’s problems. There is a total of 3 memes which the students have to analyse. For each meme, the students must answer these questions: a) What event does this meme refer to? b) What is this meme trying to suggest? c) Rate this meme out of 10 and write down why. Interestingly, meme analysis really does promote and encourage some great historical skills. Such as, deduction, inference and understanding of the topic. Great for engagement as well. Feedback always welcome. Also, please don’t forget to follow: @mrmrsroberts_ (Twitter & Instagram)
