This is mainly for key stage 3 but could be adapted for GCSE students. Four sides of activities looking at the eight main elements of religion. The activities are inclusively worded, contain space for pupils to work and are flexible. Tasks have choice elements and can be done using internet access or not so everyone can access them in any home.

Presentation originally for years 3 and 4. Introduces the main ideas of the community of Christianity and links in the idea of belonging. Originally for whole school “Belonging Week” activities. Presentation includes guidance notes for activities.

Two lessons on a power point describing the concept of mission, what is Christian mission and giving examples of different types of service to others - for example the Salvation Army, Francis Xavier and Mother Teresa. Could be adapted for lower school.

A unit of work looking at the teachings of Jesus. Contains a power point and booklet with additional support sheets. The unit looks at whether people still consider the teachings of Jesus as important. Adaptable resources here. The unit ends with considering whether the teachings of Jesus are still important as we celebrate the festival of Christmas in the UK.

This presentation and resources were used for a meditation workshop. This was part of an alternative curriculum experience which pupils got to choose for an afternoon. These resources could easily be adapted for a scheme of work for RE / PSHE / wellbeing

A series of lessons on ethics and the work of Jackie Pullinger. The power point can be adapted. You would need some information, books or material on Jackie Pullinger or access to the internet. For the global ethics essay you would need ethics textbooks or access to the internet. Marking sheets for assessments are included as examples of ways to mark pupil work.

With the presentation the students are guided through the process of producing professional presentations on the world religions. Some other resources supplied. You will need folders and also key words for each religion that you plan to use. Also you need a box of religious artefacts and research books or access to the internet. The presentation can be adapted.

Presentation used for various lessons to recap year 10 and go over Christian and Muslim main beliefs before we started looking at Christian and Muslim practices/ festivals/worship. Contains main concepts of both faiths, emphasis on key terms and is adaptable. Activities aim to revisit key terms and provide a good basis for following study.

This power point has 16 revision sessions that were completed by students close to exam time. The sessions were topics chosen by students who wanted extra support for certain topics nearer to the exam. We follow the OCR syllabus studying Christianity, Islam and issues from a Christian perspective. There are no extra resources with the power point but we have textbooks and you can adapt the power point to suit. Some sessions were 20ish mins before school and some were after school for over an hour.

Presentation and worksheets detailing the main concepts, propositions and principles of Joseph Fletcher. Sheets summarise the main chapters of his book and give students exercises to think further about Fletcher’s ideas and whether they can be applied. Sheets include quotes. Presentation has starters and some plenaries to make lesson planning easy, also examination questions are included.

This presentation and resources were used for a morning activity session for year 7. They could easily be adapted and I have used some of the materials here for year 4, 5 and 9 ! The resources help pupils to experience some fun and festivities. You may want to get prizes, Jewish Passover plate food and other materials to build a succah (hut) - it is up to you. You can also easily download a free dreidel game outline and instructions off the internet and play the dreidel. Enjoy !!

Originally a year 9 topic but could be adapted for KS3. You will need “The Hiding Place” film about Corrie ten Boom and perhaps the book “Prison letters”. Also other Corrie ten Boom books are fascinating. The film is based on the book of the same name. The presentation enables pupils to pick out important religious and philosophical themes in the film and to explore important holocaust questions, for example why were there bystanders ? The presentation also helps pupils to consider why people doubt God in hard times and especially in the light of the Holocaust, also to see ways faith gives strength to a person to enable them to have resilience. Powerful stuff !
