SEVEN lessons in a unit of work based on the topic of ‘cooking’ for meanings and representations AQA English Language A Level Paper 1.
Unit includes 10 texts as a booklet to handout to students including a transcript, magazine articles, newspaper articles, adverts, modern and older texts - even a photo of the Good Housekeeping guide from 1796! Supports all aspects and AOs of the meanings and representations unit for Paper 1.
Fully useable lessons for Y12 or Y13 as revision for the exams with DO NOW tasks and scaffolding for weaker students. Lessons also include comparison tasks and photocopyable worksheets around the texts.
This unit is really fun as it can progress into debate about food and eating habits! I always encourage my students to share resources they have found on the topic of cooking as well.

Three lessons on developing student responses to the opinion article for AQA A Level English Language Paper 2 Q4.
This question requires creativity with language as well as linguistic content. The lessons build on each other, the first one is 34 slides long and the second two include handouts and practice questions.
These resources could easily be extended for a six lesson unit of work.

A Level English Language Transcript for use with Paper 1 meanings and representations. This transcript is also part of a bigger bundle unit of work as an introduction to spoken language analysis.
I use this with my Y12 classes for AQA however this transcript would work for any specification.

A useful lesson for KS3 or KS4 on how to develop sentence structure in creative writing. Using different settings as a way in and inspiration students can develop sentence structure whilst also developing skills needed for Paper 1 Section B writing for AQA (with a picture prompt).
