Business Enterprise Project

(0)
This enterprise project uses a business plan to help students run their own business. This can be completed as an extra curricular activity or incorporated into the Business GCSE SOW. I have used this resource by getting pupils into groups of six, where they will be in competition with each other. They are to complete this business plan and present a Dragons Den pitch in order to receive investment. It is up to the teacher, but I allocate £15 investment per group. A date is then assigned for when they will sell their product/service and the team that earns the most profit wins the competition. This business plan covers a range of business functions such as Marketing, Business, Finance and Operations. It is a useful resource to apply the theory taught in lessons into practice. I have also included assessment questions that relate to each topic area to help students consolidate their learning. This Enterprise project is to help pupils develop a range of enterprise skills such as problem solving, teamwork, communication etc. and is an interactive activity to help students understand the importance of money.

It helps develop a range of enterprise skills such as creativity, problem solving, teamwork and timemanagement etc. This activity has been delivered to up to 100 pupils. They are put in groups of 8-10, and work in each team to create a book for world book day. This requires them to plan and create a range of book merchandise, a promotional campaign and an outline of a new book they would want to publish. It is a whole day event broken up into three stages; planning, implementing and presenting. This resource includes the Powerpoint which helps structure the day as well as the workbook each team is to complete. Evaluation forms students complete at the end of the session always come back positive and we have seen the number of pupils who choose Business Studies as an option increase each year.
