This lesson is the sixth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson looks at the ways in which rural areas are changing. Pupils are to look at the reasons behind why rural areas are changing and to look at the reasons for deprivation. Majority of the lesson will then focus on exam skills by answering a range of exam style questions. Any feedback on this lesson would be a great help for future lessons uploaded onto here. This is the fourteenth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson looks at the different ways that the high street is doing to “fight back” against decline. The lesson, like others still focus on exam practise as this is the easiest way to get pupils to focus on their weaknesses. The lesson like others contains an 8 markers to help pupil to continue to practise these tough questions. This is the fifteenth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography This lesson looks at global cities and urbanisation. It focuses on what urbanisation is, the features of a global city and how a global city may lose its status. There are loads of different activities that help pupils engage with the content and also at the same time practise their exam skills. I have also started to include the “#excellentgeographer” into some of the slides- (This idea was taken from the amazing Jen Monk- @Jennnnnn_x). The worksheet contains a lot of graph practise, as well as another 8 marker with a clear and focused 8 marker mark scheme on it. This lesson is the first lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson covered a basic overview of what vocabulary they need to know for the 2.1 key question (this is done as a starter), looks at sparsely populated areas and densely populated areas in Wales and looks migration with push and pull factors (helps pupils understand the basic link between urban and rural area). Pupils summarise their knowledge into an exam question that covers both a skills-based question and a suggest question. These are the 9th and 10th lesson in the fifth theme of the new WJEC/ WJEC Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. The 9th lesson looks at the characteristics of the tropical rainforest. Students look at the climate and vegetation of the rainforest. They practise their exam skills at being able to describe distribution and plotting a climate graph by using a given set of data. All the activities/ tasks are on the powerpoint. The 10th lesson looks at the processes that occur within the tropical rainforest. Students summarise their understanding by completing the worksheet attached. Those that completed the extension question, then the markscheme for it is also attached.
